I am now sitting in my store, fully dressed in my suit, face still flush from ripping it on the dance floor, and this is my first day back from vacation. Im sober, and was all night last night - but i feel like im on another planet for some reason. Oh yeah, maybe because I HAVENT SLEPT AND WONT BE ABLE TIL 530!!! Ok, enough of my bitchin.

For all this time ive thought trance was dying. I was so wrong.

Boa-Redux has now confirmed what ive thought all along. Any kind of music sounds good on this system. A lot of people came up to me throughout the night and were like "hey Jeff, dont you HATE trance?". I just shook my head and laughed. Edgar V was really good, but John 00 Flemming showed us what this genre is about. So dark at times, but then headed to a melodic journey that travelled so well in that venue. I think that is the loudest the system has ever been pushed (hence the ringing of the ears!!) but music like that is best to be heard loud. Now i see what everyone has been trying to tell me about this guy. Just pure raw talent period. So many TA's out in full effect representing us so well as usual. Im glad all you Boa Virgins enjoyed the popping of the cherries :nervous: I'd love to shout out to all who were in attendence, but that would take for ever and i only have 20 minutes til i open the doors. I do have to give a quick shout to my new floorwhore partner in crime Katherine (Mucopus) - it was a great pleasure meeting you, and i look forward to gettin down with you again. Also to voodochild for keeping me company for the ride (hope you enjoy the Picotto mix ;))

That is all for now - time to sell suits. .

Being a Boa virgin, I got there way too early, most of my friends that came with me were gone before Fleming ever came on.

Fleming was awesome!!! I had such a great time .... Though there were not many people there..... Met a lot of TA's. The sound system was unbelievable!!!! gotta get to bed....full review, later

Ok, since there are only 2 reviews up right now and there were like a million people going to this event, I guess it's still going on a 9:27am? I wanna hear all the stories about people getting their first experience in that club.

as a boa virgin i was really impressed with the club, the lay out was interesting and the sound was amazing, wow, my ears are still ringing,(or maybe thats coz i went to guv on saturday).

great to meet so many TA's there, it was amazing. as for the sets, thanks to edgar v for playing three great tracks of the summer, crush, traffic and naranja.
john flemming put on an amazing set as well. it was a pity there werent many people there, oh well we all still had a good time.
i look forward to more trance events at boa.(thats of they decide to have any more).

I was one of those whom popped their cherries last night at Boa and I have to admit, it is one of the best venues that I've ever been too. The sound was impecible....so crisp, clear and clean. Walter Rosati has definitely improved since the last time I saw him at Viva last year. He played a great selection of tunes and with great flow. It was hard and dark and then very melodic at times. Then came Edgar V. He was amazing. His set took me on a journey....a trance journey that has long been awaited. His set got really heavy at the end and I found it hard keeping up the pace. I went to sit down and almost fell asleep and just I was about to leave with Beh, Rob crazed canuk convinced us to stay to see Joof open up....all I have to say is thank you. Last time I saw this dood, it was in Eden in Ibiza in 2002 and did he ever tear the place apart last night. The sound was pounding out of the speakers. His very melodic and epic set kept me going for another 2 hours until it got really heavy again....or maybe it was my feet or bad back. I haven't danced like that in a while....perhaps it was the water that helped ;)

It was good hanging out with everybody again last night. I miss you all very much and apologize if I seemed a bit out of it last night. I was extremely tired when I got there so it took a bit of effort on my part to keep my energy levels up....a special thanks to Beh and Andrea for helping me in that department.

Shout outs to all the TA's I saw last night. Beh, Andrea, Steve, Nat, Graham, RJ, Aaron, Mike, Jenna, Ben, Jason, Jeff, Perrin, Rob, Melony, Kevin, and anybody else I might have missed. Party hard in Toronto for me while I head back out to Regina....again :(

Cheers,

Ry

This was my first visit to BOA. There is sooo much hype surrounding this club, that I was somewhat afraid that I would be left disappointed since, well, overhyped things often turn out disappointing.

Now, at 10:40AM the next day, I'm glad to say that there was really no basis for my fear. The club definitely lived up to the hype and more.

People were telling me how crazy the sound system it... and it IN' WAS ! No other sound system that I've heard in life so far even comes close - BOAs sound system definitely had the best sound quality I've ever heard in my life!

People were telling me that the club had virtually no lighting. Well, imagine my surprise when I come into the club, and see lazers that are going to give Guvernment's lazers a run for it's money. Awesome ! Lighting in general was superb, and greatly surpassed my expectations !

People were telling me that staff and security were very friendly. I was kinda sceptical, as I've never witnessed the entire security staff to be friendly, or even respectful. Well, surprise, surprise, everyone working at BOA was indeed friendly and respectful even at 8AM when the club was shutting down ! BIG UPS FOR THAT !

The club was much bigger than I expected it to be. The dancefloor was pretty small, however lounge/sitting area on the main floor is pretty damn big. BTW, even with no speakers in that main floor chill area, sound quality was still pretty incredible there(only at low volume). Thus technically, on a busy night there shouldn't be problems dancing all over the club.

Now that I've mentioned the positive, I should probably list some negatives of the club(boa redux, plz view this as constructive criticism):

- Stairs all over the club. Well, nothing much can be done here. Not really BOA's fault. Really irritating though. Only a matter of time before somebody will fall.

- Air conditioning. Even with relatively little number of people in the club, it was extremely hot and humid. If BOA really wants to be "a club to be talked about all over the world", it needs to install some proper A/C. I can only imagine how bad it gets there on a packed night.

- Allowing people to smoke in the main room. I was actually one of the smokers, and I really hated it. Ever since the ban of smoking, I was smoking very little at parties, and was real happy about it. Today they allowed smoking, and I smoked half a pack. Smoking inside clubs is illegal in Toronto, and I think this rule should be followed without exception.

Now for the party itself. Wasn't really planning on going, 2 exams this week. Studied all day in the library, but then sometime during the day quickly though "whatever.." and we were on our way.

Walked in around 2, as Walter Rosati was spinning some sweet trance. Then Edgar V came on, and played even more awesome trance. Didn't really feel like dancing though, and mostly chilled with all the TAs in the sitting area. I kinda wish I danced more to Edgar, his set was really great.

John Fleming came on after some delay around 5AM. Played a great great set. Sound quality was at it's peak during his set, and it was absolutely mindbloding hearing psy-goa-trance melodies with such crisp quality. Fleming did get a bit repetivie towards the end of his set, but then again maybe I was just way too tired.

Finally - with great sound, comes great responsibility. I'm not usually the one to criticize DJ's mixing, but on BOAs system one can hear every little mistake. What might escape untrained ear at clubs like Guvernment or Systems, will definitely be heard by everyone at BOA. Edgar V was guilty of a few very "iffy" mixes that would probably go unnoticed in a different venue.

Overall had a really amazing time. BOA lived up to the hype, and I really hope they will throw another trance event there soon.

Awesome dancing/chilling/spendign time with all the TAs. At this time, I can't even imagine partying without such a great group of people.

Aight.. time to take out my studying gear. Let the finals begin :D
