Bringing Technics to college dorm

I'll be attending Marist in the fall, moving in next month. Im thinking of bringing my setup with me to my dorm room. not really sure what i would do without it
good/bad idea?
theres really no way i can lock the setup, but i can lock my door, and tell my room mate to do the same.
im thinking of getting the Vestax DJ Table also. |

| I'm leaving my tables home, they'll be safe there. Besides i wont want to be in my dorm room spinning i wanna be out there getting drunk chillen with friends and , theres always vacation time. just my .02 |

In my experience it's hard to keep turntables in your dorm room, even if you forget the problem of space needed, and if you have a room mate their objections, there are also security concerns along with the fact that you probly can't have the volume very loud...
I left mine home and just spun when I came home. |

don't know where marist is but if it's within driving distance, take them. you'll be missing them if you don't.
don't take them, however, if noise is gonna be an issue.
i've been taking tables to the dorm for 3 years now. never had any travel damage, noise concerns, or theft problems.

| oh man.. that rooms kind of small. you should definitely talk to your roomie about it before hand. the table is nice though. |
