| I recommend using SP2 only a computer with good performance, otherwise dont bother. SP2 is really good but it takes a lot of RAM memory and good CPU performance. I used to have AMD XP1800+ which was a decent CPU but ty 512 MB RAM. I highly recommend 1GB of RAM DDR and a higher end manufacturer (OCZ, Kingston or Corsair). Also I recommend a rather faster HDD unless you guys are patient with the loading & :wtf: |

well, WinXP 64 exists and runs well. You should do some research about benchmarks. Performance is really dependant (either 32 bit or 64 bit) on the processor you use. |

in order to not overload their servers, microsoft is permiting a selected range of IPs to update any given day, until the demand decreases... so be patient. |

I really don't think so. 512 of Ram is a fair amount of RAM to do average tasks and even a bit more.
I have a gig of OCZ ram only because I do some video editing... not because windows is slow. |

| Just download SP2 from www.torrentbits.org (with bit torrent). It's the same thing, with no waiting. |

I am an analyst in the security and architecture division where i work, and this "patch" is something I've been looking forward for a while.
Now, updating 4000+ machines is not something that will happen tomorow morning :( |
