sounds like i picked the wrong two hours to go. i was there from 10-12 and i felt kinda bored by that part of the set armin threw down. sucked to have the prospect of work today too... then again, adagio for strings didn't move me, so i just think it was me ;-(

you're not alone. his set was pretty boring. mixing was just lame. played out tracks too long and just didn't know how to keep the crowd going. well, unless you consider him raising his hands to be keeping the crowd going. i think "pump up the crowd by waving your hands" is a dutch dj disease. who can forget the flying motions that tiesto does and how he jumps up on the tables to dance? and now armin does his little hands in the air thing and the "look what i'm offering you" stance. lame. why don't they get the crowd going with actual dj skills? |

i thought it was a decent set, but kind of uneven with too much filler material; reminded me exactly of why I like Armin but can't listen to him for too long in one sitting. At times, he seemed to be enjoying himself more than the crowd :p
and i finally got to meet indy! - :D |

this is soo funny..i just got into work almost 2hrs late and ended up having a great time last night ... NOT AT ARMIN!
Went to see a broadway play and had dinner at Blue Fin in Times SQ. Could you believe I got home the same time Crobar would have finished. Maybe cuz I was drunk off my ass and I'm definitely not feeling it today...anyways..yea so armin = cheese

he spun quite a number of old skoo songs that i never thought i would hear ever again...cant name them right now but that was DEF a BIG PLUS...i thougth he was def *better* last nite here than during April...
omg i cant remember nething else right now i didnt sleep till 4am and im at work right now...and they just tossed 3 projects at me that require teh use of my brain which is not functioning
but great to FINALLY chill wid everyone!! joey (as swt as ever!!!), brian (in top form last nite), serg (dayams ur outgoing!), dan (u kept walking away from ur friend dave he kept asking me where u were lols xP), big mike, jenn :), trunks, yan, albert, vlad (finally we meet!), INDY (the big surprise of the nite :D), amy (so cute!), joanna, joe n his gf...and omg i know im missing ppl... everywhere i went, it seemed like another TA would stop me to say hello...the only ones i remember right now is Soundscape lols <-- a newbie...neways overall i had a GREAT time with you all!!! :D :D :D and baby (langxazn), trancinchink, ludawg and ech0...u guys are def fun to party wid!!!

yeah i made it! i wasn't gonna go, but at the last minute i decided to go and hang out with the "crackies" hehe. boy i was glad that i did coz i had such a great time!!!!
met up with joey and vlad. they had to pick me up since i parked soo dam far from crobar. thanks joey..always a doll!:D when we got to crobar, we thought omg, there is no one here lol...hehe we totally didn't see the long ass line on the other side of the entrance :haha: thankfully, we saw lyssa and her bf so we hehe cut!:p then "brians' crackie crew" came and cut aswell hehe..funny! the line was going a lil bit slow, but after like 20 minutes standing outside we finally got in!
armin started his set already. saw serge and cindy up in the front going "bananas" hahaha:haha: :haha: serge was just soo happy and kept repeating OMG OMG OMG IT'S ARMIN!!! ROTFL very very full spirit kid. for armins' first tracks eh..it was the "usual" slow tracks. i was like man, i hope he will just PUMP IT UP!!! he played..luke chaceble-ride, adam white and andy moore- white room, above and beyond- no one on earth!!!! ( i loveeeeeee that track...love singing to it ehe) thats all i can id :p :haha: the first hour was pure signature armin ASOT set tracklist. but after that BAAMM! that boy laid it down!!! he started to play hard and the crowd just started to go bananas. some of the tracks i rem were beastie boys-intergalactic planetary, randy katana- in silence..(per my request):D thanks tom for telling him! ..phantom manor, randy katana- tribal shock..were my faves and a couple of other tracks that i can't rem lol:haha: :haha: :haha: he was deff the cheery armin as usual , trying to pump the crowd by interacting with them. i had a great time. although some parts i was just so tired that i couldn't dance anymore hehe GRANDMA INDY in full affect :p
big shout out to all the crew and crackies hehe:haha: brian, joey, vlad, sergio, tom, dom, ARNOLD hehe, lyssa and her bf, brian and his gf...glow people casper, glitter girl, johanna and crew. i met some new tas...omg and shot me coz i didn't remember your names :( big mike, in silence was just DA ZZLE!!!:crazy: my apologies again, but i do know peeps by face hehe...just a lil ehem last night :p
o yeah great stuff from armin taking his time to take a group pic with the nytas :D he will always be the most personable dj ever!!!!:D

It’s fairly obvious to see why Armin is so skinny bouncing back and forth for 6 hours non-stop. Yes, it is the Dutch style although quite frankly, I quite like all the energy as opposed to someone like Sasha, who sits there like a robot as if he has to trudge through it again and again.
He does have a way of moving his hands and saying “C’mon…. why aren’t you freaking out over this song… this song I chose is money” Then raising his hands high in the air obviously thinking to himself that life couldn’t get any better. The guy is one happy dude. I would be too with all that jack and people going crazy for me at his age.
Overall, he started out slow but right about “Intergalactic” came on, he really brought it up a notch. Personally, songs in the first couple of hours are something that I like at home but in a club environment they don’t play over so well.
Thrillseekers – Synaesthesia (Ferry Corsten Remix) Got to love that song!
Unfortunately, I think mostly I’m wasn’t feeling the vibe of a club at 9 p.m. on a Thursday night when I have to work the next day (plus the fact that I couldn’t be anymore sober). :( I think Central Park would have added a little more intrigue.
For my money, a very good set. He covered songs I wanted to hear along with a few surprises. Plus, he brought some energy.
Tiesto on a Wednesday? I don’t know if it’s gonna fly with me. I guess I might call in sick the next day. |
