This may be sarcasm, but, definitely, sounds like the words of a true alcoholic.

I made a post some while back that every day in the Chill Out Room I read the stupidest thing I've ever read. Well, you just made my day!

Glad I could make your day! I'm not even insinuating that you necessarily are an alcy, but talking about how you don't even feel it is certainly a comment an alcoholic would make.

Ah, now I understand. It is true that alcoholism frequently causes an increased tolerance for alcohol which, then, causes the alcoholic to drink even more to get the desired effect. I was a bit confused about where you were coming from, thanks for the clarification; your comment makes sense now.

You just read my post a little differently than I had meant it. The reason I don't feel it is because I usually only drink beer or wine and I drink them at a rate slower than or equal to the average rate at which alcohol is metabolized by the liver - e.g. twice a day, one with lunch and one with dinner. You're not going to get drunk doing that obviously, so I don't feel anything.

My point was more that in order to get the full effects from alcoholic beverages you have to consume it at a rate far higher than you would normally drink beverages for hydration. In other words, I was trying to point out that alcohol only affects your body like a drug when you actively try to use it to do so.

I probably drink a lot more than you and still don't consider myself an alcoholic. Drinking a glass of wine or two a day is said to be healthy. Binge drinking, which I partake in on occasion, is not. I've lived with a couple of full blown alcoholics, and the aforementioned statement sounded like something they would say. Again, that didn't mean that you are, by any means.
