help on what to play........

every year my school has a sort of talent show where peeps ehmmm well show of their instrumental talent. Me and a mate are wanting to play something electronic since the majority played is rock and solo pieces.......... gets on ure nerves!!!! :whip:
we are wanting to play some sort of a tune which will provide the hall were gonna play in with a form of energy - grinding bassline - pumping trance that kinda stuff...... i've listened to trance for about 2 years now and i was thinking.......

lol in my school its usually rap groups or rnb singers. But that would be cool man. But are you going to be playing the songs and then adding stuff to them, playing them live, etc? Last year my friend And i were gonna give a shot at Talamasca-Aries track. I was gonna fill in for the guitar and he just played guitar part silent so I can play it while he adds synths to the song. |

| What type of music is the majority of your school into. I think they would like it more if they can relate to it slightly yet open theyre minds to trance at the same time if at all possible. Once you find out what they are interested in then it will be easier to select songs. |

To him it seems like Rock so im guessing Psy trance. For me i would go with Breaks and such. |

| unless your a decent turntablist and want to try mixing 10 tunes in ten minutes with plenty of scratching, sampling etc then don't bother, you won't gain anything by playing a bog standard dj set for 10 minutes (i gather if it's a talent show you won't get any longer than this). |
