If you started smoking now, there is a 7 percent chance that you will develop lung cancer but if you do develop lung cancer then 90 percent of your friends in the hospital ward will have been smokers.
I am not saying its ok to start because there alot of other medical conditions tobacco aggravates and your quality of life will definitely be lower, not to mention the hole in your wallet.
All in all I think these "smoke-free" movements are silly. The effects of passive smoking are greatly exagerrated (unless your parents smoke or you're a waitress all your life). It seems to me that the biggest nuisance to people is the smell which is a price im not too greedy enough to pay to let my friends do what they want.
ps: i dont smoke :) |

| its a damn good law that you cant smoke in clubs and bars, saves the smokers from smoking alot and keeps the non-smokers from smelling like a tobacco company when they get home. you guys will enjoy it. |

There's something wrong with cigarettes when they burn your eyes, lung and nose. Its a different form of pollution, I personally wouldn't want a running car putting out exhaust in a club while i'm partying.
In Ottawa , they enforced the no smoking for a bit, and then people realise that it is much better and it is no longer needed to be enforced as people just start adheering to it. Also getting nasty glances from others tends to make people not wanna smoke inside! |

| are after hours considered bars?...cuz when ppl smoke at afterhours and your dancing..that smoke really messes you up..i hate cigarettes.....so i hope this law goes trhough by january 2005 |
