Hey, I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinions about this guy, and any tracks of him that you like. What are his sets like, does he play trance most of the time?
He is coming here to Guatemala september 8th and I was wondering if it would be worth going.

go and see him, its not as if youll be getting big DJs over there on a regular basis

ive personally grown out of his sound in the last year or so, but for a newbie, i think youll enjoy it, especially if you have some of that jose cuervo especial ;)

I'd kill to see Ferry!

Have to say of all the tracks he has put together himself, Sublime is my favourite. A lot of superb mixes and one of the best DJs in the world IMO

Go Go Go for fecks sake!

hes a very poor dj who thinks he is better than he is

he comes out with bull statements like 'i only play electro music now' & then continues to play the same old bull trance

still, you could probably do a lot worse
Cuervo79
LOL, lots of mixed opinions. hehe.. IŽll go, but I still want to know what you guys think, does his sets contain only trance?

yeh pretty much, very 'floaty' trance with lots of breakdowns and little substance - no edgier stuff

although im sure some will disagree

a) When did he ever say that?
and
b) since when was Right of Way et. al. the "same bull trance?" Much of Ferry's new work has been pushing a fresh sound that departs from the standard.

in a mixmag interview, i dont have the date

he plays the same bull trance though... i dont know what right of way is like, ive not heard it nor do i want to - but i dont think that mashing techier/ electro sounds with trance is a concept that is all that fresh.

I think checking out Ferry spin will be well worth your time.

i think it depends how new you are to the scene & the access that you have to the top djs...

if you dont get many coming your way then i suppose you might as well go along ... but for people living in europe there is easy access to about 1000 djs better than him.

So you're taking a hard opinion of Ferry without even having evaluated his material? You've formed an opinion with no evidence, confident that your emotion alone is correct? That's not a very good way to judge.

Listen to Right of Way (the title track itself) and tell me what similar material has come before. On the contrary, I think Ferry's current direction is one of the few in trance today with any vitality.

ive heard the single, of course - and i didnt like it - i can see what he is attempting to do & i dont agree with it.

Im talking more of his djing, as a producer ive never liked him since the beginning ...

as a dj he is very poor, and its clear to see what he 'thinks' he is doing, but he remains a bit of a joke to everyone really.
