But GU's difficulties was not related to sales as much as it was bad management decisions and problems with the American market. People want to get GU, not only for the music but for the booklet that tells the story with it. This was stated in an interview with the remaining member of the original two owners.
LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR, the question was How many GU's do you have that are not burned copies but legit versions. |

GU006 - John Digweed, Sydney
GU013 - Sasha, Ibiza (except I've lost one of the CDs + the cover notes :mad: )
GU017 - Danny Tenaglia, London
GU019 - John Digweed, LA
GU021 - Deep Dish, Moscow
GU022 - Dave Seaman, Melbourne
GU023 - James Lavelle, Barcelona
GU024 - Nick Warren, Iceland
GU025 - Deep Dish, Toronto
Of those the worst is probably GU022. Sounded really good at first (especially with headphones at night) but it really hasn't dated all that well. It didn't help that it didn't end up sounding much like the set he pounded out down here that the CD was meant to be based on (although that was a friggin awesome night). Of the ones I've heard but don't own, 18, 20 and 26 are probably the weakest.
Of the GU side-projects, Steve Lawler's Nu-Breed was pretty weak (dull as anything, especially compared to the Lights Out CDs which were both great) and Seb Fontaine's Prototype 4 (the only one of that series I own) was fairly trashy too. |

GU006 - John Digweed, Sydney
GU009 - Sasha, San Francisco
GU013 - Sasha, Ibiza
GU024 - Nick Warren, Iceland
Of these GU006 is definitely my least favourite, I don't dislike it but the first CD gets a little boring at times. Compared to GU026, which I don't own but have heard, it is the best thing since sliced bread.
GU013 is by far the best, actually my favourite CD of any genre on any label. It is stunning, a truely tantalizing experience!!! |

| Why does GU:022 get bashed so much? The second disc is ok, but the first disc is the beauty, IMO. That's not to say that disc two is bad, because it isn't. The programming on disc one just amazes me however, especially the first 30 minutes. Very chill and very exotic sounding. Is that why people don't like it? Is it the songs in general, or does it have to do with the style change between this and Dave's previous GU's? |

i only own GU013 and GU025, plan to buy GU024 once i get my next paycheck :)
but i can't say rightly which one is the worst one as i haven't heard the other ones yet.
i agree with ******...25 had good tracks but mixing was rather bleh. |
