Buying Ronaldinho for cheaper would have been a lot better for Man Utd but they messed that transfer up. Rooney is a great player but I'm not sure he'll ever be the same quality player as Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho and rooney arnt the same kind of players ... ronaldinho is a plyermaker while rooney is out and out striker plus ronnie is about 5 years older than rooney so that is something only time will tell

hey, i said challenging, not winning ;)

Were they challenging last year mate? I belive they lost in the quarters and were behind Valencia by 10pts. Challenging but sometimes challenging does not equal to win. Look at the team I support:confused:

United needed a second striker to draw defenders away from Ruud. Now they have a powerful trio of strikers and it gives fergie, many options. We actually paid more than others for a player, that's bloody rare :stongue:. We shall see who wins in May, it is a long season.

What?

I think it's too early to start giving out opinions about this young kid. Let's see how he does in his first matches. And only then can we start to say whether or not it was a good move by the Man U.

Arsenal's already got it wrapped up if you ask me. What's more interesting is who will get the 3rd spot for Europe and of course, the always interesting relegation battle. For now, my toffees are not in that picture thankfully.:D

ManU appear to now be mid table crap, and will be for some time.

Not onyl has Fergie's treatment of star players proved too repulsive for any decent player to handle and sign up but one can serious question his coaching skill. I wonder whether ManU won their trophies because of him, or despite him. He's made some stupid tactical decisions over the years.

They haven't signed a world class players for years, I mean signing Smith wtf?

ManU are the new Liverpool.

For Man U to be Liverpool They'd need to have conquered Europe 4 times, and 18 league titles. :D

When you say years , i wonder how long you actually mean because i do not recall Van nistelrooy and Juan Sebastian Veron being considered anything short of superstars when we signed them back in 2001. Also we have picked up players like cristiano ronaldo and wayne rooney because fergie always has this policy of planning for the future and these two look nothing short of players with fabulous potential.

As far as the signing of smith goes .. hes been the best player for us so far this season and the only reason he was not able to produce as many goals at leeds was because the rest of the team was e and there were to many financial problems of the field

unless fergie's planning to play with two strikers upfront, it's a waste imo. what have been united's tactics lately? i think i remember nistelrooy being the only striker with the entire team playing for him but i don't follow the premiership that closely heh

Your full of if you ask me, your comments are amusing. Considering the fact that ferguson is the most successful manager in the english premiership.

Alan smith is a greast signing, and many teams would love to have him in their squad, his aggressive, and competitive. Football would benifit from more players of his type.

I don't understand why people are so obsessed with our apparent failure, prefabricated my the media pundits, and self obsessed individuals that would rather concentrate on rediculing our club, rather than concentrate on their own team.

Also to the idiots predicting the league standings, it's too early to tell, arsenal could sustain injuries to some key players, anything can happen.

It seems that football is going down the pan because of "i know you are, but what am i?" football fans, that think it better to insult with childish pathethic wit.
