Got there around 2:30. Lineup was surprisingly fast (unlike bal en blanc) Like others said before, walking down to the floor where you see 10000 people dancing was surreal. Hung out in front of the DJ booth mostly, where I saw a couple of blondes pretty much glued themselves to Digweed when he came on the floor for a few minutes after his set. I prefer trance over house, so when Ferry came on, it was a nice change. Although by then I was exhausted from dancing non-stop since I got there. Only stayed for another hour or so. All in all a great time.
Don't remember whose set it was, probably Sander's, when there was a whole row of people dancing in front of the booth (before they got booted by security), and the fire was going off in the background at the same time. That was energy. Just awesome.
And anyone know the know of this track? All I can describe is: I think it was in Sander's set. The song slowed down, and was very "airy" and "ethereal" with the synth's, a break in the song. Then suddenly a sound like a sonar pulse, or a pebble hitting water, but done musically, hits you. It was all bass and felt like someone just hit you hard in the chest. Unbelievable. Almost hurted, but in a good way. Can't get that at most clubs. |

What's up guys...haven't been on for way too long but anyway...CREAM was AMAZING. The line-up was sick, and the people as usual were extremely fun to hang out with, dance with and so forth.
Came in around 2:00 AM so I missed Digweed's first hour, but I was REALLY surprised to hear him play such hard and deep stuff...There was a rumour that Sander K and him were changing slots cause Digweed was playing somewhere else and wouldn't make it on time, but apparently he did, and it took me about 30 minutes to recognize that he was spinning...anyway, never heard Digweed live before, but I liked what he spun...Sander K rocked...first time I heard him also, and was SUPER impressed...gotta ctach him again sometime...which brings me to Ferry, who keeps on disapointing...I might get shot for this, but his set was the worst one I've heard from him yet...everytime I see him, he gets worst and cheesier for whatever reason...not impressed at all...I actually sat down for half an hour during his set cause I wasn't feeling anything he was playing...and I NEVER sit down, and never miss an opportunity to dance...
So anyway, Deep Dish finally comes on and just blows everyone out of the water...I went to Cream for them specifically, and they did not disappoint at all! They were, in my opinion, better than at Bal en Blanc, and played some absolutely sick tunes like their remix of Flashdance, Greece 2000, some eighties track etc...I was totally feeling their music and Melbourne shuffling like a nut, especially with the deep hard bass pounding through the speakers...I kept dancing till they closed down the house at noon with some friends near the VIP lounge, and would have totally been up for another 10 hours...
Anyway, great night, but some caveats to mention: Bell Center is a good and bad venue, respectively because seeing the crowd of 10000 partying their asses off from the seats was awesome, but at the same time, way too packed to dance comfortably...I was down near 122 dancing most of the night until I moved next to the DJ booth at around 8:00 AM for breathing room, in those little spaces that were opened up to the outside. Also, the water line-up was terrible (surely mentioned by someone else), and was way too warm. Other than that, great night, lots of fun, and thanks to the organizers and the people that made this happen.
I'm back in Pittsburgh again and depressed :( Looking forward to Black and Blue in October...can't wait!! |

Masiello= Peurf, i talk with him really nice guy, i told him i enjoyed more his set back @ ARIA:p he was more jazzy and funky there, anyway he was really cool and PILLÉ:eyes: (i think 8 ecstacy)
Digweed= hes nice but it wassnt catchy enough, i mean i wasnt really impressed
Sander= best of the night, he really made this party awesome with his GROOving beats, really intense
Ferry was so normal, i saw him as the guy REALLY not fitting there
DD was nice, i remember a couple of good beats but i was too long
all in all really nice party

A lot of different opinions on music... here's mine.
Everything about Cream: set-up, visuals, line-up, Bell center... perfect. I like that place a LOT and Aria & 514 did an amazing job. Better quality than last year. Nothing to complain.
But the bad side... the music!
Alain did a nice job opening, everyone was dancing and it was the kind of set that was efficient to start-up the night.
But then. I hated, HATED, Masiello and Digweed sets. Boring, sleepy, and often cheesy tracks, and masiello was playing way to soft for the energy that people had at the beginning of the night. I Loved Digweed's set at Freaky in 2001 (if i'm not mistaking), but we were FAR from that set. There was no consistency, going for hard to soft, hard to soft... and people around me were BORED. The vibe really suffered until the end of Digweed's set.
... and by 5h00, it got way better. Not "I wanna Die" better, just ok. Sometimes good. Corsten pumped the crowd up, probably because it sounds more commercial.
BUT, god... Then comes Deep Dish (well, one of the 2)... and it was AMAZING. Intelligent, complex, super build-ups, great mixing, it was simply by far superior to the rest. A unique comprehension of big event music. Some bad remix (sorry, Owner of the Lonely heart is super cheesy, or britney spears) but the set in is gobal aspect was great. For about 30 minutes, he went pretty hard, with guitars and unusual beats, almost rock beats, with long build-ups, he was blowing my mind away.
So conclusion: When you pay 30,000$ for a Dj, you never know what your gonna get, and the amount you pay doesn't guarantee anything. You can end up with a set like Deep Dish, or a set like Digweed...
Digweed and Masiello must have forgot that people were there to PARTY, which happens often in big events.
But again, THUMBS UP to Aria & 514...
Please re-consider maybe the PRICE of the ticket, 95$ with taxes is A LOT. Maybe one or two headliner less would help. |

The night was amazing... I had a blast...Came from Boston for this and did not regret it... Chicks are so hot.. music is good though ferry played the same set he played in Nature One. Sander K ...hard and awsome sounds - loved his set the most. Only sucky thing those f&ng bastards took my superglowsticks away - had to buy them and they sucked... .............................................................................................................................Now Question: Does anybody know anything about those glasses that flash red????? Couple ppl had them and I saw they got high just by wearing them...is it just goggles with lights in them or u can buy them???? Please tell me if u know...
