EDM cd to show my closed-minded co-workers...?
View this Thread in Original format
Miss Julia
The peeps at my work listen to commercial music... hip-crap, rock, and pop. Every time I tell them I listen to EDM, they make some stupid comment, like "You're one of those freaks", or "How do you listen to that ?", etc... I can't take their stupid comments & music anymore. Every night, they bring in their own cd's, and blast it. I want to bring in an EDM cd and show them what they are missing out on.

What suggestions do u guys have? I want to put songs with vocals in it, because if they don't have vocals, they won't be able to understand it.

I was thinking stuff like:

Motorcycle- As The Rush Comes (G&D mix)
Sarah Mclaughlan- World On Fire (JXL mix)

etc...

I would love to bring live sets from Dave Clarke, Mauro, Sasha and stuff... but I don't wanna scare them off.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

there seems to be a lot of ignorance and closed mindedness among the EDM scene these days as well ;)

You need to work them up to the good stuff!
I suggest euro/dance stuff first, like qed - hardly a day, anastacia - left outside alone (jason nevins radio edit) etc etc

 hah dude, you're mental. Play them garbage first and hope they warm up to the good stuff!?! hah

My real suggestion would be something light (Robert Miles-esque) or also classic (any Oakie E-mixes circa 99) might work.

Am I too brash in thinking that dance music is only for those who know anyways. :p

I suggest house music first. Not prog though.

Even my mum likes deep house - everything but the girl, Lazy dog, Ben Watts solo compilations...or work them in with a St Germain lounge CD which will have more commercial stuff on it, like Moby or whatever.
