It is sad but you have to ask yourself why these people feel this way toward America in general, These people werent just born to hate Americans.
American government has been responsible of deaths of many innocent people around the world,and at 911 they got a taste of their own medicine.Iam not saying what happend at 911 was a good thing,but it was a good wake up call for Amercica but unfortunatly that wakeup call created even more trouble in the muslim world,and they hate America now more then ever. |

Sept 11th rememberance thread: to honour all who died and continue to die at the expense of bad decisions made by those holding the power reins- that cause human suffering and effect my future and that of the next generation.
Sept 11th rememberance thread: to honour the day I was forced to get my head out of my ass and think about the worldview of N. Americans in general and USA specifically and how this effects my life. I mean for something to happen so close to home :eyes: and on the US soil really nailed the point home. We are not safe anywhere! folks...

True there is a small portion of people in the middle east that is fanatic about their religion, and use it to do things that is doesnt even alloud you to do. Islam doesnt alloud any of the you are talking about, thats just bull. They use the religion for a purpose, its not the religions fault. Christians used to do the same things. They also killed everyone who didnt believe in their faith. they burned them, everyone. So does that mean that Canada and the US are only evil people and that we should get rid of them? ehm, no. It means that there are always people who uses religion for stupid purposes. As long as we have poor countries with big social problems we will always have those kind of problems.
And, yeah i think about all the people who died on that terrible day 11 sept 2001. but still i think the whole thing has blown a bit out of proporion, and has been used for purposes that is as bad as the actual terror attack. |

This thread isn't about religion, Bush or other countries.
It's about a bunch of innocent people's lives that were unfortunately snuffed out because of terrrorist/extremists.
Terrorism knows not religion nor borders and I find it laughable that people actually point in any direction. It's a mindset who's goal is to cause chaos among the afflicted area.
Some of you need to keep your safe, behind-the-keyboard opinions to yourself; that and take your collective heads out of your asses.
These people certainly didn't ask for it and there were a lot of lives lost even in the rescue attempts right after.
What happened was a horrible tragedy and I for one will never forget what it means to me; Freedom isn't Free. |

Unfortunately, due to the proximity of it ,the racial backlash it caused, and the blatant arrogance of one country, US- into bullying and inhilating two countries has turned this into a regular fanfare. I dont want to reopen the same old arguments-wounds, they are tiresome.....sigh! plus 9 11 crossed the race and class barrier it effected even more people.
So to answer your question- put it to rest , let the victims families grieve in peace.
I am surprised that i have not seen a thread titled- what did we learn from 9 11 bec. who knows we might just end up saving some innocent lives in the long run...

religion sucks ... thats my opinion ... anyway apart from that, the muslim world or should i say the true muslims always condemnd the acts of 9/11, it's a sad day. However, its a sad day everyday for the people in the middle east, countries like iraq, palestine ...
one must define the term terrorism and compare it to war ...
terrorism = The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. source (dictionary.com)
war= strife involving military or naval or air attacks. open hostility between people .
iraqis or the pals have no military, thus their strikes on their enemies are considered terrorism. with no intelligense back up, all their bound to do is stealing planes or straping bombs to themselves and killing as many people as they can ... thats sad ... people they consider enemies not innocent as portrayed by the western media |

man...relax. I was being quite neutral in my post, acknowledging both sides. Starsearcher is right...anyone who rejoices in something like September 11th is a very sad person...and this Arab guy I know from school fits that description. |

no comment on the rest of this thread...it's gotten silly.
I don't think someone like Irshad should be dismissed so easily though...most of us probably know far too little about Islam and Irshad's book to really comment one way or another.
I do respect her for challenging the status quo and challenging people (not just Muslims) to be more introspective and logical...an unfortunate product of organized religion is a disturbing lack of reason and individual thought. |

I was working at Moores in Brantford. I remember first hearing about it on the radio, and they reported it being an accident, possibly from resulting in a plane flying too low. Then the second one hit, and it became apparent it was an attack. Not a single person came to my store from 10:30 (when the towers fell) until close. I was one of the few people who didnt see it live on tv, so when i came home and watched the replay i knew what was coming. I can only imagine what it was like to see it live.
Those of you taking out each others frustrations on other religions should get your heads checked seriously. All of those involved in these idiotic discussions are just beating this to death, and it will never end. If your religious, practice YOUR religion and keep out of others. If youre like me, and dont need religion in your life then just do as i do, and laugh at those who feel the need to make fools of themselves. |
