oh yeah, workin in the service field... like retail, waitering, etc etc. it requires you to engage with ppl socially. yeah of course, its superficial at first but you never know the ppl youll end up meeting! :) and plus, it makes you appreciate good service & good attitude.

very true

when i worked at a restaurant last year, i had a pretty big group of friends, but as soon as i left and started working a regular job and was with my boyfriend, they all started treating me differently and so it just fizzled out. it really sucks cuz i liked them a lot and had a blast hanging out, but it was like they all treated me like i felt like i was better than them...i am not even like that, nor did i act like that, but they just assumed, it was really weird.

i am extremely outgoing and will talk to just about anyone, so i never have a problem meeting people, i just wish things would work out for once when i meet someone cool...people are just flaky...

on a more serious note, I think it’s hard to meet new people if you aren’t involved in anything like school or sports or whatever. right now I’m just working and waiting for school to start in October and it has been really hard for me to meet girls in the meantime. Well I shouldn’t say “meet”, more like it’s been hard to keep the friends I meet, and i don't think it's me either.

your right it takes the right environment and effort to make friends and keep them. It also gets harder as you get older. Your friends either move or get married and have kids.

btw if I'm ever in the area I can wear a wig and we can do south beach ;)

there is always the underground scene:

-Get into B&D

-Join a swingers club

-Check out your local paper to see what girls are advertising for guys to have fun with!

-start using heroin & hang out with new junky friends in a slum

-Ever thought about becoming a jigalo?

Meeting people is easy, it's meeting people that develop into good friendships that isn't. I usually meet people out and through friends. I'm not the best at meeting people at the gym or grocery store or anything like that.

talk to random people

join a website that serves your interest....then if you have events in your local area, attend them.

i got tired of my limited social capabilities in Georgia in comparison to my Puerto rico social situation, which is in amazing. I know tons of peeps in PR and do all sorts of .

but GA was NADA, ziltch, nothing.

so i joined TA and attended shows to meet the TA's and now they are some of my closest friends in the ATL :)
