It seems apparent to me, so many people are asking for big DJ's (whom have been to System before) to come to BOA. Me thinks the main reason being BOA's incredible sound system and System's horrible sound system. Would this not be a clear decision for System management to fix their damn system? I don't think anyone dislikes System itself, and prefer's BOA that much, it's mainly the sound system between the two that differs. You can't dispute System's sub-par sound, many people complain about it, and I wouldn't even step foot in the place without earplugs. My personal preference is System, mainly because I can get a beer, and it opens earlier/closes earlier. BOA is great, but I'm a wimp and can't really take the really late hours, I also like to enjoy some beer while I'm out listening to tunes.

I think a lot of people will share your thoughts on the Kevin. I personally like both venues, alot. As most of you know ive been associated with Boa for sometime now so ill obviously choose Boa as my venue of choice. But i still occasionally go to System if there is a dj i really want to see. Plus, with Boa opening at 1am you can hit both venues and even catch the headliners for each ;). Ive heard rumours of System upgrading their system for months now (including Brad Copeland on the Tribe boards) so id stay tuned for that. |

Trust us... Boas sound system F-A-A-A-R Surpasses system's |

It's kind of hard to compare apples to oranges though.
While it's true that Boa has an incredible system, comparing them to any other bar (save GUV and their Phazon) like System probably isn't fair.
I have heard from some people that System could stand to tweak it a bit though... |

If it wasn't for my custom-fit 25 db earplugs my ears would bleed @ SystemS.
I think the sound @ SystemS is just too loud. Like REALLY loud.

I'd hardly call it apples to oranges. I'm looking at this from a club aspect, we have two clubs, one has great sound, the other one doesn't. They both compete in the same area, so they're very much apples to apples. We have people always wanting to see DJ's @ BOA instead of System. My question really was, why wouldn't System management get on it, and fix this problem they apparently have. |

True they're both clubs and are both supposed to do the same service; give us great sound.
BUT, they use two totally different sound systems.
Any band that has travelled and used the home systems of where they're playing will tell us that some are good and some are bad, even though they've both supposed to do the same job!
The club has to work within the realities of their own equipment, good or bad. :(
I'm not saying System's equipment is bad, they just need someone qualified to test it properly. |

Ive noticed the sound actually getting worse as of late, and honestly i think its due to them cranking it beyond capacity. It just sounds like they're trying to push it too hard, thus making the sound muddy and distorted. |

I agree the sound at BOA is better than at System...but I would say the sound at BOA is better than the GUV or anywhere else in the city. Nothing beats walking out of there after hours of dancing in front of the floor speakers with no ringing in your ears. :D
System could used to upgrade their sound ...definitely...but I do prefer the smaller venue, crowd and vibe at SYSTEM. Aaron and I were chatting at the Deep Dish gig last night and he noted that some big DJs translate their sound better in a more intimiate environment (they seemed to get lost in the GUV at LOL compared to the set we heard last night) which I tend to agree with. I think System provides a good place for them to do it and if System could improve the quality of their sound I don't think they would have to worry about the direct competition with BOA. Providing the same quality in that small intimate space would keep me coming back every friday. But I am an old bird so what do I know. ;)
Speaking of System ..has anyone watched this video that was sent out in their eflyer with a "LOOK WHAT YOU MISSED" link?http://www.systemsoundbar.com/inter.../foamparty.html
I think there is actually a part in the clip where a guy is choking on the foam! bahahahaha. I'm I supposed to be disappointed that I missed this? |

it's not always the equipments fault in terms if being too loud and ty.
the dj's have to know how to work a system throughout the night.
as the saying goes, louder is not always better. |
