I totally agree. Sasha was putting me asleep for the first 15-20 min of his set. after that, he tore it up! |

I totally disagree. Pvd totally brought the energy of the club up 10 notches. Mad peeps were just standing around bopping heads until PVD cames on. I agree, not exactly an amazing set, but IMO it ws the best set of the night. Sasha's last half of his set was really really good. But overall, Paul rocked it. Although I don't really like Time of our lives, I sang every friggin word out loud to it. He dropped it a the right time so it fit in. |

but isn't that pauls signature? the bassline that no other can replicate? it gets old after a while, yea it brings the energy but does it necessarily tickle the pickle. Im not hating on pvd as I am a fan of him myself, but this high-energy pounding bass is growing old. Maybe it was new to me at the time, but i clearly dont remember (and i hate to mention it or refer to it) but his sets at twilo hardly showed hard bassline after hard bassline. What i DO remember about those times was that his bassline was wasn't dictating the flow of the set, but rather the height of the set. im not sure if i am conveying this properly, but as it seems "the pvd hand crush" is predictable now, and its predictable to the next bassline drop, and so on and so forth. its like anything in life, you do it too much you'll get bored of it. rather than build up the anticipation and then drop it on you.
ie: tillman uhrmacher - on the run -- at the time he played tracks similar to this there was noooo deep bassline drop but rather a steady focus on flow. brought up the energy 2-3tracks later to only drop it once again. thats how i feel sets should play out, granted he only had an hour and was trying to destroy the club (which he clearly was and if bass=hammer strength, im sure he would of torn the club down wrecking ball status). i dont know, bassline after bassline gets old for the legs to keep on bouncing... |

The first 20 min of Sasha's set almost had me going to buy 3 Red Bulls. At least he made up for it.
Isn't it about what style you like? Most of the sets that I download from Sasha are ho hum. That's just me. PVD is much harder which I like. |

agreed man. I feel like pvd's really gotten narrowminded with his choice of music and djing style. he's far too predictable now and, quite frankly, just bores me. i am a pvd fan, but the way he's playing now is nothing like he did 3 years ago so he's definitely losing fan points with me .you can talk about how boring sasha's prog is and all, but nothing is more boring than a monotonous set of floorfiller driving basslines.
And sasha's first 15 minutes kicked ass. That spacey breaks song into that ridiculous remix of ride? That was just ridiculous... :) |

Yeah, I hear you Bryan. But it was an hour set. what kind of build up can you expect him to have before getting into his sig. PVD style?
Plus, when PVD was playing tillman Uhrmacher - on the run and other such tracks, mad people were saying PVD's getting fluffy and he's just not the same. I myself liked him either way, but I prefer the way he is playing now. |

| ach...i dont mind the non stop bass pounding my ears into oblivion...i do mind the tracks he keeps using over and over and over again to get this feel...but if it was a 6 hour pvd night...i would go insane and start pounding my head on walls from the boredem of nonstop bass pounding. i like sasha over pvd...but thats just cuz i prefere prog and breaks over trance. A couple years back id be sayin the complete opposite. |

I really, really hate that Ride song. In my top 10...
Sasha gets too alternative for me, it's hit or miss. And I think he's an to boot.... |

I used to love PVD...but he just doesnt do it for me anymore.
When you have an hour, you can bring your best to the tables and not worry about fillers. To me, PVD has turned into...

Sasha doesnt expect you to walk out liking everything. But even if you didnt like it, you can see his creativity with it.
