yea its sad how it works. but i think tranceaddict forums does not want to compromise its place on the web by being associated with filesharing. imagine if tranceaddict forums was a big place to dl illegal mp3s, as well as this community we have. you think it would stay open for long. of course not. thats why, even if the mods do have illegal mp3s, they have to say TA doesnt support filesharing, to keep this place around for people who enjoy it and benefit from it. you just have to live with it. |

i know i didn't know about the track. i don't usually know about tracks until they get a big fuss on TA or they show up at juno.
but i really don't see the problem everyone is having with what max did. the guy came out and blatently said he had the new max graham vinyl...and max pointed out the fact that he didn't. if this jackass wanted to dl mp3s and listen to them on his comp...i don't care, but don't sit there and claim to have bought the vinyl and then try and pass it off in a promotional tool he is trying to make...that's just lame. |

well at least you can see where im coming from. I dont know of any 'edm' forum really that doesnt have some sort of file share system (although none of course admit it)
This is why you can see why i find it quite funny that people are running around in a thread started by max graham saying how bad illegal music is when you and I both know a hell of a lot of them will be downloading some right now. |

Right, i rarely post here on TA (for numerous reasons, to which i'll not go into!). But i just had to make a comment on this thread, as i fear some of you have slightly wavered from the original point.
The quote above was to emphasise the fact that i feel you are making a very wrong statement there.
If record labels could get free advertising just like that, why do they employ people to market records!? What's more, the track isn't released for one sole purpose, and that purpose is because the track has been sent out to top DJs to create some buzz in sets, not to get distributed across the mp3 circuit!
The bottom line is, a track gets promo'd for a reason, that is to create buzz from big DJs. It then gets promoted via the label that has signed it using professionals who they employ, if advertising was as simple as you make out, everyone would be doing it that way.
I sincerely hope i'm not the only one in thinking these things, but the original point of this post has been completely lost in how scandelous mp3s are. The concern was for the point of the track being played by an unknown person, who was very much in the wrong for playing and promoting himself using an illegal track, which turned into concern because he was then distrubuting it. Whether people have this same file or not is pretty irrelavent to this post if i'm honest, because they weren't the one's being questioned! |

You miss the whole point of everyone else's argument. The person that I was just chatting with on MSN is right...it's like arguing with a two year old. You know how kids keep repeating themselves over and over? You answer their questions and address any issues that they may have yet they still whine. Blah blah blah file share file share MP3 you've got music on your PC :wtf: |

yea, its like, oh max graham is posting (im not saying this for all the users, because some have legit music), let me post that i think illegal music is bad and all this bull when they have their dc++ on downloading mp3s. i think what floor filler and biznology said was right on though. |

i saw ya biz...i completely agree with you too. this isn't about oh well everyone dls so what's the big deal...its about someone trying to promote themselves as a dj with material that they don't own.
maybe i have every mp3 single in the last 10 years on my compputer...but i'm not trying making promotional mixes with it and posting them to highlight my talent as a dj. |
