..i'm glad more ppl are realizing that picotto's one of the best..
..liebing was good first 30min, later on ok, couple of nice tracks but nothing special, just like at roxyblu last fall.. expected a lot more, but at least he was in a good mood /putting tape on his mouth then his eyes and spinnin' :D/ thumbs up for umek vs. chris liebing - love express(c.l. rmx) & umek - beroxan..
..gaetek was also aight had me going on mr.sliff's rippin' n' dippin' and one more track that made me smiiiiiiiile (mirza knows).. about 20min into his set..
..IMO, gaetek should've spun before chris..
..left early cuz i really couldn't stand the crowd any more.. waaaay to many ppl inside - and that pissed me off cuz there was dancing material and i couldn't dance the way i wanted/needed to..
..the guv won't see me for a long long time unless a name like dave clarke, billy nasty, claude young or ben sims comes.. |

I've seen it titled:
Eric Prydz - Call On Me
...but it's actually:
DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter - Call On Me (Eric Prydz & Retarted Funk 'Calling' Remix)
Falcon & Bangalter released this at the end of 2003, and the Prydz remix just came out recently. Since the original is so played out (based on the vocals of Steve Winwood's "Valerie"). I think the video (which may still be featured on MOS' site) is still getting more love than the track itself. There was a thread in here a few weeks ago linking to it on a different site than MOS.
And LMFAO @ the tune of the night being a vocal house track dropped by Mauro "I-should-stop-accepting-bookings-and-stay-in-the-studio" Picotto! |

Good work! You da man!
This was the tune of the night for me - it sort of tied the whole night together. Same song, 2 venues. |

That happened to me at Decadence. Dave Seaman dropped Intergalactic, then Sander dropped it at Boa, then Deko-ze dropped it at Zone! :whip: |

ok i can write my review now.
well i wont say anything about guv that hasnt been said in the forums like 50 000 times already, all ill say is that the crowd last night sucked ass big time.
as for the dj's LIEBING just set the bar too high for the night. that man was insane and played some really good tunes.
gaetano played a solid set as well, i was hoping to see more of liebing and gaetano and was really dissapointed by the length of thier sets.
mauro was dissapointing, he played some good tracks but there were many times i found myself not so amused on the dance floor.
the funniest thing about last night was when i launched my sunglasses off my head and somewhere into the crowd. i dont know exactly how that happened but it did. i never saw where they landed and i thought it would be hopeless to look for them and if i did find them they would be crushed. i was really pissed off about that coz they are $300 prescription sunglasses. about two hours later i see some cracked out asian chick on the dance floor wearing them, so i asked her if she had picked them up off the floor and low and behold they were my glasses. what relief i felt, i was one lucky bugger.
not only did i get my glasses back, they werent crushed either.
i left the guv at about 6am and what the dj's were doing towards the end was kind of fun.
overall i give the night 6.5/10
looking forward to armin, now after that banging techno i need some high energy trance. |

had a good time last nite...I went to see Chris liebing mainly, but would have bought the wristband to checkout Mauro as well...got the good news at the door that the whole thing has been moved to the main room , which meant no set time conflicts..But the happy moment didn't last for long due to Guv getting overpacked...Couldn't catch much of Mark's set...I think he wasn't on for more than 30-45 mins anyways because of all the guests...Sidefour were impressive and throwed down a proper opening techno set...Then came mr liebing..what can u say about this guy...2 good is the word that comes to mind...the energy , the mixing , the tunes and that big smile on his face kept the whole place grooving...He was jumpin up n down and moving his head so much that for a brief moment he held his neck and one could clearly see the pain on his face..But he kept goin non stop...Respect
After listening to quite a few of Chris and Mauro's sets in recent times..I feel that Liebing truly deserves to be called a Real Techno DJ...no matter where he spins or what he produces..It is pure techno...I have hardly ever read a bad review about his performance...For Mauro I can't say the same anymore...my love for techno is not very old and it was infact Mauro's performance that got me interested in this genre to start with cpl yrs ago..But his sets aren't as hard and top notch as they used to be...Yes, he will spin a great set once in while that will go down in history as one of the best ever...But as Nat said so rightly..it's a hit n miss situation..Luckily for us, most of his sets in Toronto have been pretty good with the exception of one below the par one..
Parisio was impressive as well..started slow but got on track quickly...At this time , the crowd was simply going crazy and wanted their most celebrated DJ of the night to throw some more Techno at em...Mauro came on and dished a below par but not an enitrely Blah set..he was out of sorts clearly but played decent tunes in patches..and I am not talking about the infamous 'flashdance' 'call on me' combo....not to say that I cared either , cuz my legs needed some rest..But def not something one would want/expect/imagine to hear in a techno set..Worst thing was when he dropped 'Flashdance' and it started skipping...It skipped like atleast 3 times if i remember correctly ,before he threw it away...
The best part of the night was Chris , Mauro and Parisio tag team...It was my first time seeing such an act and really loved it..I was on the stage for a bit at that time and the sound wasn't good...One couldn't hear the bass that well if any..Whilst all this was happening..Guv didn't look like Guv anymore..There was no management aka Charles presence in the DJ booth which was very refreshing.. It annoys me a bit when the owners start distracting the DJ's endlessly which takes away from the vibe...All the DJ's were very interactive with the crowd...
A great night out...Hopefully Chris will come to Toronto soon and we will see him spin a longer set... |

Overall, the night was Ok, nothing great, but an ok night... the good thing was that I got $10 back, and I got to see Chris & Picotto together, Liebing impressed, while Picotto did not. Though by the end of the night Liebing and Picotto stuck around and mixed tracks one after the other. In the end, the mixing had gone to hell, yet they looked like they were having a good time...and so was the crowd, by the end of the night, they had to force the DJs to stop. Im glad trancechaos found his glasses unbroken....
see you @ the DOCKS for DT.
