"Raver clothes"?
View this Thread in Original format
DJ Cinos
I just had a person tell me I'm not a real raver, meaning trance-listener because I "don't have any raver clothes". The person also called me a wannabe-trance-listener for the same reason.

Not that I give about her opinions, but I'm interested - what the hell are "raver clothes"? Does anybody of you have them?
DJ_Bod
My guess for "raver clothes" would be like UFO pants (yes, I own a bunch, because it's all I wear outside of work). Either that or the cyber stuff in England. a little too crazy for me, but still pretty sweet. Those would be my guesses for "raver clothing."

I know www.bewild.com sells the pants I have (that's where I got a few pairs from) so if you're interested, I guess you could look there... :tongue2

BTW, I don't wear the UFO pants to look like a raver, I wear them because they are super comfy. :)

in that person's mind, raver clothes are what candy ravers wear.

it's nothing about the wear to be a raver, just put on sthg off beat ;) anyway i think it's not wear thing but behaviour to be a real raver... btw do not use white gloves, whistles and hovers, it's for dumbs :haha: :p

Candy ravers? :)
Mr. Pink
I did a report on this...

not about "rave clothes", but about the trance or EDM community as a whole....... what i realized is that as much as there is a "candy raver" generalization to how we're supposed to dress... there are so many more people that do not wear anything like that.
In fact I find the EDM community to be the most diverse community out there.

from poshy dressing clubbers, to some dude wearing a baseball cap and soem shorts- everyone shakin it to the same beat.

CANDY RAVER

The most colorful people from the U.S rave scene. Candy Raver (also called Candy Kids or Crasher Kids) scene started in the mid 90's in the U.S. and is basically a form of expression through the colorful trend. The origins of this trend are dark, but some of it's trademarks are inspired in children icons -from Japanese animation to cartoons-, and a touch of psychedelia. The candy raver trend is characterized considerably by the color (lots of colorful beds all around the body, colorful wear, stuffed clothes, glowsticks, etc). On the musical side, the Candy Raver scene spins mainly around Trance music and Happy Hardcore. The motto of this scene is PLUR (Peace Love Unity Respect) which defines it's philosophy.

just feel comforted by the fact that your friend will look like a fool when he goes to a club, whereas you will look like a normal human being

People usually say that I dress up like a skater who likes grunge :p

Plaid shirts + cargo = everything you'll ever need

edit: I'm thinking of buying a skate, by the way :D
