Whats with all the guests at Guvernment?

Why cant the just let the resident do his thing? I dont think there has been a 9 hour mark oliver set since at least august.

Are you really complaining about the great talent being brought in?

Not that Mark Oliver sucks, in fact I think he's ing awesome and definitely one of my favourites as it is, but out-of-town talent is good too.

i agree, bring back a res night and let MO do what he does best

yup! but still lets give MO at least one night on his own

Just set MO up in the main room and bring the guests to Kool Haus... more room for EVERYONE!

brilliant idea

the djs they have been bringing in other than the long weekend specials have been marginal at best. Id be happier with a 9 hour set for a month or two and then a really really good guest dj like cox, or mills, or Danny Howells. Not these half baked guest DJs that can hardly even draw a extra crowd. And even if they are the most well known DJs, at least get the really talented ones. The only DJ worthwhile other than the long weekends recently IMO was Chris Liebing (who rocked it) and Mauro (who wasnt even that great anyways)

Yeah and do it once a month with good djs.

True, and instead of 3 or 4 djs getting an hour here, 3 hours there... get like, an opening, GOOD Dj that plays from 10-12, the headliner gets 12-close :)

I'd prefer if they did away with the crowd instead of the DJs, then I might actually go.

i personally like the guest djs...i've enjoyed the non-event days a lot with just mark when he does a good set...its been very hit or miss though from my experiences on just mark oliver nites...but guv's had some good djs coming in lately, and i'm pumped to see marco v on saturday, becasue he rocked in july!!! there have been a bunch of ppl i've had absolutely no interest in seeing...ie. boy george??? wtf??? and dj remy (i don't know, maybe hes good, but i never heard of him) so for a nite like that, persoanlly i woulda liked it to just be mark...but on the most part, i've been happy with the lineups...my absolute favorite clubbing experiences during the summer without a doubt were ultra spin's 5/6 both those events kicked in ass, and the kool haus being open on both events completely made the nites huge successes...the ultra spin nites are always the best!!! amazing djs for normal cover, can't beat that!

I think Holidays are good enough.

IMO Guvernment is killing itself slowly with all these guests. The old schoolers will remember industry. I think the reason industry lost some of its magic near the end is because they kept bringing in guests. It cheapened the image of the residents to the point where they couldnt draw on the odd "normal" night that they did. The guests kept jacking their prices up more and more and it became a financial burden. Meanwhile their residents (peter and tyrone, mario J, Kenny Glasgow) were just as talented if not more talented than most of the guests they brought in.

By cheapening their resident's image with guests and by not properly promoting the regular nights i think Guvernment is making a big mistake.

Dude, this is moronic, we all know what Guvernment's problems are and they don't have jack to do with the guests they bring in.

Ffs. You're whining about this almost as much as you whine about the smoking laws. You're an intelligent guy but you know this is just complete BS.
