MK5 or TTX1

I just sold my cdjs and i have a ttx1 already. Now i am going to buy another turntable and i am debating on which tt to get.

Technics 1210 Mk5- trusted name, proven quality, industry standard, lasts long, maintains value, looks good.

TTX1- higher torque, more features(digital display, key lock, 50% =/-), completes the set so i have 2 of the same turntables.

Im not sure what to get. I like them both, but one thing is that if technics are the standard, then there is no pitch display so it will be much harder to beatmatch. And im not sure but the ttx1s go up by.1% on the display but im not sure if its more accurate but the display only shows .1% where the mk5s are techincally infinately accurate.

Well it's always nice to have a matching pair of decks, isn't it? :)

The pitch display on the TTX-1 only shows the pitch at .1 accuracy but that's only the display, they are more accurate than that.

To solve the problem of not using the displays, cover them up with paper so you don't get used to them. Thats how I practice with my TTX-1's at least, never tried em with using the displays. If I were you I'd want to complete the pair because thats more fun and you won't need to worry about adjusting how to deal with the differences etc after every mix. Although, if I was starting over again, I'd probably get the MK5's since I know they'd last forever.

definitely the TTX1, even though techs rock, it sucks having mismatched dex..

then again, i'd also buy a MK5G after, triple deck madness!

i am so wanting that setup:( if i get a ttx ill be one step closer:) i think im gonna go with the ttx considering its higher torque, analogue pitch control, 50% pitch range, key lock and sick look. I just dont know about the future like if it will last a long time like the techs and maintain its value.
sleepydragon
the ttx1 r the decks that i want eventually the only thing that the 1210 has over them is the proven reliability but thats not numarks fault i think the ttx1 is a better deck

if you already have one you might aswell get the other one.. the ttx1 isnt a bad turntable either.

yea that does look like a sweet setup :D love the blue lights. the only bad thing about numark is that the turntables look so plastic. technics look solid.

Match your decks, get the ttx.

Why is it so essential to know what pitch you are at?
Not having a display will not make beatmatching harder, you need to be able to do it without a display, its much more fun anyway doing it yourself rather than matching two numbers up!

I recently covered up my beatcounters - makes it easier I have found cos the beatcounters just aren't precise enough if you need them in an emergency - and they are a distraction in normal cases.

Personally, I would sell that TTX, and buy 2 Tech MK5's...end of debate.

i dont use the bpm counter, i use the pitch display ie .5% its just easier to know how exact you are where as on the mk5 u are just guessing what pitch change u made. im used to the display since my cdjs had them, but i never use the bpm counter since they arent very accurate anyway.
