BTW - all these "features" that people are taking about for FireFox can already be done in IE using BHO's.
mwhahaha! BHO y'all to death!
Apparently FireFox is nicer, faster, easier, more secure - all because people don't know how to fully utilize IE.
mwhahaha! utilize y'all to death!
Suggestions: Learn how to find and use BHOs (plug-ins). Learn how to make basic macros (plug-ins). Learn how to fully utilize active desktop (basic windows functionality). Learn how to keep your system secure and up to date.
/me is still using IE, with the same abilities, features, usability and security as the FireFox folks... sanks. |

Right-click on the left side of one of the toolbars and go to "customize", then you can change buttons, move them around, etc.
Edit: right side works too, you just have to click really close to the edge. |
Cool - it works :)
Now, does anyone know if there is a plugin for Thunderbird that allows for quick searching of e-mails ?? Something as fast as gmail ? |

it's about friggin' time people start seeing the light and use mozilla products.

They may be similar on the surface, but they are totally different concepts.
I know all about BHOs - every day I have to remove another one from somebody's computer because it's taken over their browser and they can't get rid of it.
Trust me, I know how to fully utilize IE, and virtually none of the functionality I talked about in my earlier post can be easily replicated with BHOs. All BHOs do is stick extra toolbars and into the browser - Firefox extensions can actually change the functionality, like tabs and mouse gestures. And things like the quick search are already integrated into Firefox, which means they're 10x faster and 1/10 of the resource usage of a BHO.
Death to the BHO!

Something wrong with the search function that's already there? I've never had a problem with it.
--- Oh by the way, I have ONE complaint with the new Firefox release - Flash stopped working! Anybody else have/fixed this? |

Yeah yeah, I know, there's other like the Acrobat extensions, but you really should give Firefox a try. Read my post to Margs and tell me which BHOs I can get to replicate that functionality without crashing the browser or slowing it down massively - I don't think you can.
Firefox is also a lot faster than IE, even when comparing an extension-loaded Firefox to a bare-bones IE. The load time for IE is slightly less because of the way it's always running within Windows, but Firefox loads pages a lot faster (not talking about connection speed, just networking and display overhead - a lot of people don't realize just how much overhead IE generates).
ShadoWolf, there's a good reason for that extension: Blockhead developers who design their pages strictly for IE and don't conform to the W3C standards. |

| FYI: Based on my daily analysis of over 2 million unqiue users 91% still use IE. |

So essentially you prefer IE because everyone else uses it? :conf:
Besides, I don't even see how that's possible, since less than 91% even use Windows. |
