I would have posted more, but I've been occupied.. (recovering from an accident)
Litt ironisk at alle skriver engelsk i den eneste threaden med en del replies.. Viser hvor tamt dette forumet er.. |

Nynorsk ligger väl lite närmare svenskan än "gammalnorsk" som är mer danskinfluerad har jag för mig. Vissa norska dialekter låter nästan som svenska medan andra är helskumma.
En kul grej är att svensk slang kan få helt andra betydelser i norskan. Som till exempel...
"Skall du med hem och pula lite med bilen och dricka lite bärs?"
swedish:
"Do you wanna come to my place and work with the car and drink some beer?"
norwegian:
"Do you wanna come to my place and with the car and drink some ?"
 |

What about Bash in English and Baesj(right spelling?) in Norwegian. That makes for an interesting misinterpretation.
Note to American's: Don't say you're full in Norway, as it translates to drunk. |

Agreed. I feel like I should understand what they are saying because it is very much toned like Norwegian, yet the words are all different. German, with it's gutteral harsh tones, is easier for me to understand.
And, jp, you guys have been decent at speed skating of late, but I believe we owned back in '94 at Lillehammer. Koss the Boss, baby!!! |
