and anyone who foudn holden's set weak, well its jsut a matter of preference.

holden has disappointed me only the last time he was here in december when he was told to play house....

he has a style that not any other dj would play and for that i admire him

THANX TO EVERY1 FOR MAKING IT A REALLY GREAT B'DAY NITE!!!!

unfortunately i had to drive down so I couldn't get as smashed as many of you intended... but thanks to all for the gesture.

MattVagrant absolutely impressed me with that set. Really nice stuff. the sheer groovyness was at an alltime high, and the progressive/trance quantities were in the decent amounts.

For my first time hearing James Holden, it was definitely a unique set from him. impressive choice of tracks and his cute little sampler there adds a tad more novelty to the talent.

it was really funny to hear that sweet track from 3 DJs in a row... and i don't even know the title. I think it was the last one dropped before close in the front room.

so yea.. great to see every1 once again... TAs are the best crowd to party with hands down... and some of the new friends are all the more interesting ;)

I WILL ABSO-FUKIN-LUTELY SEE YOU ALL HOPEFULLY THE NITE OF JAMES ZABIELA (NOV 26TH) @ SYSTEM.

Thanks to all those who came out on Friday. I really didn't expect much, but you guys made the night so damn ing amazing!

Matt of Vagrant was on FIYA! *Sorry I had to request the Nathan Flake - Outhouse track to be spun your set and Ariels! Also heard James dropped it too;)* I was suprised that Matt can hold it down for 5 hrs without any mistakes! Great job!

Holden played even better then last time he was here. So many great tracks and so many new this kid threw down! I hope he returns to Toronto even sooner!

Thanks to all those new and old faces that came out once again! Next 1P event is Halloween ... who will hold it down proppa ? 1P or Furious Recordings ?

Hope to see you next week!

Massive Respects:

prog can be GOOD, prog is mostly GOOD, but holden wasnt good.

if he played that he was spinning last half hour all night that would be an awesome night, but he tried to be "unique" or whatever and he SUCKED

some ppl said the exact reverse- they liked teh 1st half better. I guess it's all about preference of musical style.

Well I missed the first half hour or so due to being in the front, but what I heard for the next hour or so was just like any other minimal tech-house/tech-trance set. In fact, it distinctly reminded me of a very iffy set I once heard by DJ Hardware. It sounded almost... industrial, I wouldn't even call it progressive and you can use progressive to mean just about anything! That was basically enough to turn me off for the rest of the night and go home early - when you're on at 2 am, if you want the sober partiers to stay then you've gotta keep them awake.

I'll agree with you though that NORMALLY his style is something totally different and pretty unique. I just don't think last night was a very good example of his style, at all (unless his style has changed significantly).

Oh and three cheers for the promoters for getting them to turn off the lights in the front room! :D

woot! Had a blast w/ all of you. I didn't stay for Holden because I had to wake up early, but it didn't matter because I got to see all those old faces again (and new ones). la la la.. twas fun.

Liam.. are you posting pictures up?
voodoochild
well- all the other people have covered the other important stuff so I only have 4 things to add-

1- Holden, yawn!
2- TAs Rawk- the whole lot lof you.
3- Matt, nice 5hours :disbelief
3- Dekoze :eyespop: always consistent and booty shaking.

neeta.
