well I used to have a Russian flag in my avatar since I was born there and lived there for 7. but as you can see, its no longer a russian flag.
like many, we emigrated from Russia for a reason. and let me tell you, there's no comparison in the quality of life between the two countries(for an average person that is). So who am I more thankfull to for the quality of life? yes, Canada. so despite my russian roots and even lifestyle, I consider myself Canadian so hence the Canadian flag |

Wow i can't believe how seriously some of you are taking this thread! Chill out people. It's not like Jayx1 said you HAD to put the Canadian flag in your avatar if you were born/lived here, he simply asked why you didn't have it in there. And nowhere in the thread did he mention that not seeing the Canadian flag pissed him off.
You guys are always going at him for creating controversial threads and starting flamewars but this time, you are the ones doing it. There was nothing wrong with his question, i have wondered the same thing myself.
Grow up people.
I don't have the Canadian flag because... i was born in Belgium, i speak the language, i am still Belgian, and i don't actually live in Canada yet. I just visit for long periods of time :toothless
The moment i get dual, i'll see about changing it :p |

the same people that are offended that canadian falgs are not on their profile, are the ones that wantt to see that shribbling waste of space queen of england on our money becuase "she signed the constitution":rolleyes:
They secretly cannot stand that Canada isnt filled with white people like when their parents were growing up. |

everyone should put the flag of thier background or their home country if thats what they want to represent. I like to know who is saying what.
i dont care what anyone says or what the technical terms are, you are not really Canadian unless at least 1 of your parents was born here. I cant see me moving to China or Pakistan, obtaining citizenship and thus i am now Chineese or Pakistani. To be Canadian is a cultrual thing, our culture, if you dont follow our culture you shouldn't represent us. |
