just make a nice apperance (clothing, etc...) and hope that the judge woke up on the right side of the bed.
you can't ask your boss for pay stubs dating back that far??
oh yea, and don't out if you have to spend a couple nights in jail...the other inmates feed off that. act like you've been there before and don't take from anyone...even if that means you have to get in a fight. |

the trick is either kick someone's ass the first day, or become someone's bitch.
anyways
man that sucks bro, i hope it all works, you seem to have a legitimate excuse for not being there, hopefully they will see that and be somewhat lenient. |

i'm sure they will take into account what you have already done for the punishment & also you should get your manager to write down exactly what hours you did over the summer and also get them to support you in court.
i was lucky a couple of years ago to get away with a massive fine when i thought i would go to prison, but the law system in this country is anyway. |

Heh yeah, if I'd been running the country (and one day I will) yo' ass would be worm food!! :p
As for Tribs, good luck with everything man, although I haven't really got any advice for ya. Slylee's advice was good, just make an effort at your hearing, and I'm sure the judge will see that you've been a hard-working, law-obiding citizen since the incedent.

good luck treeboo
and if your luck fails you, well, join the club
ive gotten tired of posting about all the threats i get from the military (not that i dont think they'll realise them, just that its very inconclusive on when is that gonna happen)
im officially a renagade by now, and why?
because on the last day before that status change i reported to my unit to get trialed and locked up, and they refused to do it cause i reported without my uniform.... |

The key is to provide as much supporting documentation you can possibly supply.
Evidence of work like payslips, in addition to a letter from your boss saying that you work lots and are a good bloke is a start.
Get letters from your family and friends which provide some sort of character reference is very important.
So is a letter of apology to the guy you beat up.
Judges will get sick of reading pretty fast but this is the difference between a good guy that does not really want to go to jail and someone that does get put away often.
Write some story, even if bull, of why you missed your sessions, like you were sick, or had family problems, etc as well. |

The problem here isnt the assault charge anymore. The problem is because I had a lapse in my court obligations after they put me on non-reporting probation. Im hoping to explain that this lapse is not an abandonment of the court orders but only a lapse. Ive also contacted my counsler (im using university counseling services) about finishing up these sessions and may be allowed in as early as Friday, October 29th.
I wont have as much evidence but I will go into court with:
-A copy of the current schedule of the group meetings (11:30-1pm)
-Pay slips dating back to my hire date which show I was at work every Friday since I stopped going to meetings
-A notarized affadavit from my boss saying my presence at work was vital to the business, that I was present all those days, and that she is willing to work with me, the court, and the counsler to set up times
-A copy of my class schedule and work schedule
Im hoping this will be enough to convince the judge to give me until the end of December to finish my last 6 meetings. If not, I hope to convince her to reduce my sentence (Im looking, at worst, 59 days in jail) based on the percentage of objectives Ive completed as dictated by my plea bargain. This works out to roughly 82% completion, thus im hoping for 11 days at most. If she'll go this way, I will request to be allowed to serve these during the weekends so that I don not have to drop out of school, lose my full scholorship, and face a monumental struggle to get back in.
Then again, I comitted the crime, so she may just tell me I lose all rights and slap me with 59 days. Im really not sure how it will go, all I can hope for is the best |
