I would like you to mention the best set(not top 100+)...but the one set that really stuck out in your mind as being above all the rest.
it could be nice to see an old school pre-2001 vs new school post-2001 debate. was the music really better before the legislation, or were just the parties better?
i know im not as experienced as others here, but i say
Chemical Brothers at the Hershey Centre - April 19, 2002
they way these guys build a set, ive never heard anything like it! its soo perfect. Their build through the night was awsome, modifying each sound to get a specific reaction out of the crowd. it was 1hr+ or pure bliss.
The visuals were awsome, specially done for them, and the sound was rediculous! Soooo damn loud, but amazingly clear.
Most memorable tracks they played: Star Guitar, Block rockin beats |

| Poppin' E the first time in my life and witnessing Mark Oliver for 9 hours, May 17 2003! None drug-related trance experience, a tie between John 00 Flemming (April & August, 2002) & DJ Orkidea (2001). |

I can rarely pick one single set, as I've seen quite a few that have been memorable for quite different reasons.
Danny Tenaglia at the last party I was at at Industry. No explaination should be needed on this one, it's been like 5 years and people still talka bout this night. The club, the vibe, the people, the music, everything was just perfect.
Timo Maas at the Summer's End party at the Guv in 2001. He has the crowd by the balls for 6 hours. I had only just 'heard' of him recently before as I was just coming out of my 'uplifting trance is the only good music out there' phase, and he really opened my eyes to other forms.
Sasha & John Digweed Delta Heavy tour in the Kool Haus, 2002. Like 2 days before their Essential mix was recorded, they killed a rammed kool haus with deep dark progressive. I was coming back to toronto from hamilton, and this party was held on a friday, me thinking that this would probably go till at least 7am, showed up at midnight, only to find out they had been tearing it up for hours already. I'd never seen DJs and the crowd so dissapointed for having to cut the party off at 4am.
Danny T at Boa. Fantastic set, a welcome return to Toronto after years of being absent. But everyone has heard about that one.
Live PA : Green Velvet in the Kool Haus in may of 2002(?). I was working at the guv at the time, and had just started getting into really hard styles of house progressive and tribal. This guy comes to town and absolutely rips the place apart. I went to some guys I was working with and said ' this, I can't stand here, I gotta get out on the dancefloor and dance!!' I didn't work another day in that place.
ed up on Drugs : Sander Kleinenberg Aug 8th 2003 at Stereo. Had been wanting to see this guy for 2 years and no one brought him to toronto. Found out he had a residency at Stereo and got a train ticket, but no hotel room. This was probably the only time in my life I can say I truely got high off just MDA or MDMA, and the set sounded rediculously fantastic. When he played the inkfish remix of Medway's Trauma, and Double Dee's Shining [Scumfrog remix], I just about lost it. |

That was mental, I've never really liked him since then. |

That Chemical Bros event wasn't in TO :D (it was still good though)
My favourites:
DT @ Boa: The party that fully got me into house.
Adam Beyer @ System 2002: I danced till 8.00 in the morning non-stop sans "help". This was by far the craziest techno set I have ever heard.(what ever happend to System having good techno parties?)
Plastikman @ System 2003: Not many people stayed for this event to get good, but it was another dark, twisted techno set.
Steve Lawler @ System (System 5 Year Anniversary): Good crowd, good vibe, AMAZING beats. |

Mauro Picotto - System, October 2002. I still think that was the best party I've ever attended. Too bad Picotto lost it soon after.
Infected Mushroom - Kool Haus, January 2003. Simply Amazing !! |
