| LOL.. that list is a ing joke. now with the super commercializm of trance, every year its gonna be one of the top trance jocks taking the cake. its no difference than the us top 100 billboard chart, does the #1 song mean its the 'best' song ? no, it simply means its the most played, bought and recognized song.. personally i dont give a who is the most popular dj in the world is.. yeah its a plus for the djs that make it to the top 10 for their publicity and what not but it has NOTHING to do with the actual art of djing and the part that djs take in the EDM scene.. so to answer your question, the list. that is getting old. its been old. |

You mean people who vote for the top 100 'know stuff' about music? Is that what you mean? I dont understand your point. DJs like armin, tiesto, f corsten etc etc are always around the top ten. Therefore the people voting in these things must be largely ignorant fools.
Ive heard armin is the winner this year, It wouldnt surprise me. Does this mean hes the worlds number one dj though? :haha: |

| so how would you design a poll that would measure a dj's actual skill? |

| Change the fking name of this top 100 poll thing to something more specific/less misleading. |

that u cant measure art. its just recognized. and to have a poll to measure a skill is retarded, thats why there are DMC competitions for turntablists.. stuff like that can work, but to have a poll for ppl to vote on the skill of a dj is irrelevant cuz u cant assume the regular masses have the knowledge of the art of djing to even make that judgement. |

ok - so if they changed to DJ Mag's Most Popular DJ List it would make you all happy?
but, my question is still unanswered - how do you design a poll that measure's a dj's ability? and how would you keep the poll so that it doesn't turn into a popularity contest? and what would the purpose of such a poll be? |

Those who know which DJ's are skillfull don't care about polls and rankings. |

then why are we even having this discussion? if nobody cares about the dj mag poll, why do you care that its just a popularity contest? |

I was very unimpressed this year with the amount of advertisements from some DJs about it. I thought it was very unnecessary as people will remember the sets and tracks you played as opposed to an advertisment.
The one DJ I did not see an advertisment for, I am almost positive will be the highest new entry in this years chart and he deserves it more than anyone else as his radio show on Party 107 is one of the best in the world right now. |
