Sorry, but I have to admit you're very wrong. Expeditions doesn't hold a candle to either of the 2 NE's. Especially the first edition. |
Who cares, they all put me to sleep. :p |

Prog basically IS trance, just a snoozy version of it. :p I'll tell you the ones that don't put me to sleep though: Slam, Scumfrog, Hernan Cattaneo and Satoshi Tomiie. |
ALL good suggestions:)
tho more to the house end, i'd also
add Sander Kleinenberg to that list.... |

prog just gives me something else to listen to, with a new sound, and new emotions. |

Creamer and K (John Creamer and Stephane K) can be good if you like dark and twisted prog, though some of their stuff is slow and occasionally boring.
Nick Warren is very good - I've heard sets of his that remind me of John Digweed's style.
Another amazingly good local DJ is Jon Tremblay, pick up any sets of his if you see them online. Ditto for Aaron Mossey.
Dave Seaman - arguable whether you'd call him trance or prog(I've heard both from different people), but if you haven't heard him check him out. |
all excellent suggestions! warren i love, he really varies the style of music within a set.
creamer and stephane have great productions though.
and i loved seeing dave seaman this year in the kool haus. decadance i believe, right before jxl. first time i saw him, and he showed me a really good time. |

Scumfrog is just about everything (except trance).
All depends when you catch him. He does throw in a lot of "rocker" progressive house (not necessarily "prog" though, I suppose you're right in that respect). |

| House is interchangable with anything [almost]. That's why it's so hard to get bored of. |

Put this acronym I created into your dictionary, remember it and use it often:
DDTT
Definition: Dark/Dirty Techy Tribal
Usage example: "DDTT house music." |

And progressive is just an adjective used to describe a particular sub-division of some larger genre. Sasha & Digweed tried to make it a genre of its own but that style is really just an ambient trance/house hybrid. All those tunes are either house, trance, breaks, or some combination thereof.
I believe that when the term "progressive house" was first coined it actually referred to a hybrid of house music and rock music, hence the "dirty" sound (electric guitar synths, lots of looped male vocals, more snare drums than the usual disco house, etc.). So don't mind me if I use the term to what a lot of you would just call regular house music - it IS progressive house, just not in the Sasha/Digweed context that most people seem to be used to.
Now let's forget the genre nonsense... it just came to mind that Pig & Dan are also pretty decent in the progressive arena. |
