BTW: A brand new Peace Division set from Italy (March 2004) is airing for the first time on 2HP.ca Radio (http://www.2hp.ca).

Peace Division is DDTT at it's best.

And progressive is just an adjective used to describe a particular sub-division of some larger genre. Sasha & Digweed tried to make it a genre of its own but that style is really just an ambient trance/house hybrid. All those tunes are either house, trance, breaks, or some combination thereof.

I believe that when the term "progressive house" was first coined it actually referred to a hybrid of house music and rock music, hence the "dirty" sound (electric guitar synths, lots of looped male vocals, more snare drums than the usual disco house, etc.). So don't mind me if I use the term to what a lot of you would just call regular house music - it IS progressive house, just not in the Sasha/Digweed context that most people seem to be used to.

Now let's forget the genre nonsense... it just came to mind that Pig & Dan are also pretty decent in the progressive arena.

i guess when you start getting into sub-genres, definitions start to get very vauge. most of the time, i consider something prog, if it has a very steady build through a set, and song, but no real break down or build up.

i remember somebody described it best one day, and i can always hear the explaination in my head, but its hard to describe

No - Lawler is far from House (Generic) he is dark, tribal, twisted and dirty. How do you consider him House?
Yes

See, this is the problem with house music. People find it very hard to define because there are so many different styles of house. Tribal is a form of house, and most of the dirty stuff he plays is also house. The progressive he plays [when he does play it] is progressive HOUSE.
The global underground goes as far to call him 'the coolest man in house'.

When you say someone is a house DJ nowadays, it's almost impossible to put your finger on exactly what he sounds like because house has become so diverse. But there is a world of difference between a holden set and a lawler set, or even a digweed set and lawler set. That difference is called house music.
