First, awesome county-by-county map of the election posted by Shakka. Second, if you think Bush "divided" America, then look at the 2000 election county-by-county map. Virtually no change.

For anyone saying that republicans are just rednecks, that's a bold generalization. Rednecks are mostly republicans, true... but you can't say that all republicans are rednecks. Even if you do think that all rednecks are idiots, think of all the low-lives living in the city, or "international" parts of America as someone said it: they're voting as democrats. There may be just as many dumbasses on either side, hence no argument against republicans. Look at DC for example: at first glance, they may seem on the up and up with only having 2.8 percent unemployment; on second glance, you'd realize that the only reason why it is so low is because the vast majority of them work menial jobs for the government, cafeteria servers for Capitol Hill. I wouldn't exactly call all of them "intelligent democrats."
Also, take a look at the last 9 elections. Only 3 of them were won by democrats, comprised of 1 term for Carter and 2 terms for Clinton, both southerners. How can you generalize any part of the US as being strictly one party?
On a personal note, please replace kamil with another liberally-minded debator. I can't stand the ignorance and useless insults; they hurt my eyes.

yes. now go back to work, you're lunch break is over cali boy. it's sad how a 30 year old guy is still bitching, for once and for all if everything you said made sense, and bush is a horrible leader, and kerry exploited all his failures of leadership and of all his decisions, then why is he still president re-elect? truth is that numbers, charts, graphs, whatever don't matter, as long as people don't FEEL problems they don't believe there are a real threat, so to speak, to their well being. Do we get bombed everyday? no, therefore ppl feel they are being protected. Do we have a homeless population the size of atlanta like during ronald reagan's years? no, therefore people don't consider that a major threat either, samething applys to the prescription drug plan and tax cuts, that's why people voted and chose bush. once and for all he is the president, and he will be for another 4 years followed by most likely another republican, either rudy or McCain. Live with the fact that he's here and he's here to stay or you will be most welcome in a place like Russia where you'll experience great freedoms and will never miss america for the rest of your life. |
