i have a 16x and a normal one and there's no difference in speed when taking many pictures in a row

high speed writing is useful but not for cameras.

Yeah, best is to have a big camera buffer. My D30 has 9 frames in JPEG, the 1d mkII has 24 :eyespop:

I've taken over 800+ digital pics without a flash card error. I agree with malek, speedier cards are a waste of money, I've never noticed a difference. Just buy a digital camera in your price range enjoy it for a few years then get another one down the road when prices drop and quality improves even more. It's like waiting for the right time to buy a computer, just jump in and enjoy, don't worry about the future.

ya for sure, but how many times will you fully use that buffer to its full extent?

very rarely. hehe

I took about 7,000 photos this summer on my 1GB card, including about 900 on it (full) while I was on a vacation trip for two weeks. No problems at all. As long as you dont buy really cheap and get quality stuff, you should be safe.

heheh don't kill your shutter too fast ;)

lots of pics = shutter wear = camera dies

Yeah, especially in a club or something, because you have to wait for the flash to recycle anyway :wtf: But it was usefull shooting baseball kids. 300D only has 4 frames haha.

I cant help it, I take many many photos ;)

As soon as I get money, 20D anyway...

yeah the 20D is sooo ing cool, especialy at ISO800 and ISO1600.

I use ISO800 at clubs most of the time and there's some noise, but with the 20D its really clean and the 1600 is very useable!!!!
