Tell me on what points do they share traits, except for them both being Germans living within a hundred year period?

I'll get back to you this weekend. It gets pretty deep, if memory serves. |

| I blame conservatives for giving Moore the excuse to make another crappy film. |

I don't consider myself right wing or conservative in the modern sense. My "fixation" comes from the fact that I don't want another 9/11 fiasco where his face is plastered by the media every place they can manage and his propaganda is given any sort of acceptable vehicle. As he said himself, he is in this for the commercial aspect as well as any political change he dreams he can bring. He profits from his flock of the disillusioned and forces the rest of us to watch his painful display.
My "fixation" with Mr. Moore is quite the opposite, I just want him to go away, but it's hard to ignore the fat loud man. |
Well, I just watched the Fahrenheit 9/11 today, and I think it paints a pretty clear picture of the state that US and its people are in at the moment - ED BY THEMSELVES UP THE ASS!
And whoever comes here and says that everything that happened in the last decade or two in the States hasn't had the MONEY and POWER as underlying motives is an ignorant idiot and deserves to spend the rest of his poor ass life living in fear, taxed to his balls, without any health care coverage, wondering if he'll have enough money to survive 3 months from now. Yeah, go ahead and blame Bin Laden and Al Qaeda for that, stupid fools... |

| btw, it would be nice to see in 2005 Al Qaeda actually do something instead of just sending out tapes... like blow up a few oil wells here and there, up that deal for the pipeline bringing in all that oil to the States... I'm just curious how would that affect the big players in this business. |

so now i will do something different, defend the US :D
first of all, michel moore is a funny guy and he do have a point most times, but his movies/books/whatever are very biased to make his point. So dont take it literally.
second, yes the US is very much about money, and so is canada and much of the rest of the western world. we do however enjoy much that we couldnt enjoy if it werent for all the money and the strive for them.
im not saying that americas health care system is the way to go, or anything like that, very much the opposite, but you are exaggerating the situation very much... |

and who is not biased in today's world? everyone is on one side or another, everyone has a subjective view on most situations... as someone mentioned "objectivity is a mirage".
and don't take his points literally? ok, how else would you take them? metaphorically? what is that, science fiction he brought up in his movies/books? get real, brother, and stop denying it... |

that is very true, everyone is biased, thats why you shouldnt watch anything and base your opinion on that single fact without looking up the couterfacts...
moore is oversimplificating to make his point strong (the points which most of them i would probably agree with), i dont really blame him, but its stupid to say that "it gave a clear picture of the state of the US" and that they have "ED BY THEMSELVES UP THE ASS"

If knowledge and the absolute truth was that obvious, and easily obtainable to every individual living on this world, i do not know where the world would be headed .
Michael Moore's generalization and his tendencies to do so in his so-called "documentaries" make people who are use to exploiting logical fallacies out of the haystack seem like a stroll around the park.
People who do not take whatever they are givin' view Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 951 as some sort of entertaining comedy/joke; as it is somewhat obvious that the reasons to invade Iraq isn't as simple as 'Destroying Weapons of Mass Destruction".
Every god damn person is bias in one way or another, if you see his "documentary" as a balance from popular views, than let it be ;)... But if you begin to take the "documentary" word by word, than you are as ignorant as people who take biblical/religious scriptures literarlly. |
