Dubai is fast becoming the Singapore of the Middle East.
Question: wtf are you doing in slowly-dying Toronto??? |

means you can go up and live there, visit. Elevator helps alot, which can't be said about the radio towers listed. in other words, anyone can go up there and not some technical acrobat dude (spiderman). |
Again, this is pretty subjective. It's got elevators, but do they go all the way to the top? It's got a few occupied floors, but isn't it mostly just a frame?
Consider that:
- The CN tower only has 7 occupied floors. The Sears tower has 108 floors, all occupied.
- The CN tower has an antenna length of 97.6 m, leaving the CN tower with a "livable" space of only 455.8 m. The highest observatory is at 447 m. The Taipei 101 is 509 m, or if you don't count the spire, 491 m of "livable" space. It currently holds the records for highest roof and highest occupied floor. The Shanghai World Financial center is 492 m tall and actually has hotel rooms (over 300) at the top.
- The CN tower IS a radio/TV tower! Among the stations broadcasted out of the CN tower are: CFNY, CHUM, CHFI, CKFM, Q107, CHIN, CJRT, CJEZ, CBC Radio, City TV, CFTO-TV, TVO, CBLT, CFMT, Global, CBLFT, CICA.
And, as I mentioned before, there is the CBC Real Estate building which has NO antenna and is taller than the CN tower WITH its antenna.
Face it, the CN tower is hardly inhabitable compared to a true skyscraper - it's little more than a glorified TV/radio tower.

Buddy, you always take things to far. Who are you trying to impress with your big words and facts... "subjective criteria, concretely define" Go back to high school and enjoy it instead of studying your teachers ass which is what it looks like you've done. |

| I wish i remembered the speech we had to say when I worked at the tower doin elevators. All I remember is that it takes 61 secs to get to 360, 58 seconds to get to the Glass floor level, and when the sky is clear you can see all the way across Lake Ontario to ROchester or whatever city it was. Yay for working at the tower! |

Speed of elevators in:
- CN Tower: 6 m/s
- Empire State Building: 6.1 m/s
- Sears tower: 8.1 m/s
- Jin Mao: 9.1 m/s
- Taipei 101: 16.8 m/s
Torontonians just love to brag, hahaha
Don't get me wrong, the CN tower is great and all, I just have to laugh at yet another failed attempt by Canadians to prove that they are the BEST at something... |
