are you ing kidding me? there is a huge fuss about "british aid worker". |
there is a huge fuss...but they obviously speak of the US military in a much more critical tongue than the hostage takers/murderers..."insurgents".....they aren't barbaric islamo-radial savages, they are just iraqi "insurgents" fighting to end the unjust "occupation" of iraq....right? |

and the media is going nuts over the marine who shot the "wounded iraqi" in the mosque. that same solder was SHOT IN THE FACE the previous day, and marines in the same area were killed by bodies rigged with explosives and injured TERRORISTS who blow themselves up when American soldiers come near....i would be a little bit jumpy too....and the media hasn't made a big fuss about the aid worker who was blindfolded and SHOT IN THE HEAD.....the same woman who helped the Iraqi people for 30 years gets a bullet in the head, and all we hear is sympahy for her and her family, but no rage against the bastards who murdered her.....there is a huge bias and double standard in the media today, and it makes me sick. |

Heh, very true. You guys don't even think a serial-mass-murder that raped/and killed dozens of people, tried by a court of justice, sentanced by his peers, and adhering to the supreme law of the land should be sentanced to death. How then could we ever expect you to justify the killing of an enemy combatant?
|
Are you thinking about someone in particular? I can't recall a European serial killer of the calibre your describing here? |

there has been no attack of french soldiers
soldiers have been there just to protect civils (french/english) as they were exposed to a lot of violence (rapes, murders) from ivorian nationalists.
France acts with the green light of the UN... not like USA.

so what ? we're not cowboys, and that's why this is much less spoken in the medias. Also because it's in Africa... and africa has a lot of problems no one ever cares (Rwanda, AIDS) |

from BBC article:
They reached crisis point at the weekend, when Ivorian jets killed nine French soldiers in a bombing raid on the north, and France responded by crippling Ivory Coast's tiny air force. |
Indeed, no attakcs on French soldiers... the French soldiers are just returning body bags because they died of boredom huh:conf: |

my measly 2 cents...
I always felt that the reason the US gets scrutinized the most (apart from it being the sole superpower which makes the country's foreign policy everybodies business) is that we kind of expect more from it than say, all non- or semi-democratic countries around the world.
By the very definition of being a democracy combined with being the world leader, we all hold you against very high standards. Maybe too high to be reasonable. And sometimes it just irks us when the US does things that we percieve of being rash, stupid or selfish.
(Also, it doesn't really help when you hear hear statements from US citizens and/or administration people saying the US is the greatest democracy and the most free country on earth. The bar will be raised even further with those kind of proclamations...) |

If I recall correctly, technically the attack was not intended upon the French soldiers but rather rebel positions that French soldiers happened to be inspecting. |

You can't compare French soldiers with the Americanes. First of all the French don't put innocent people in a jail and torture them.(Abu Graib). The French soldiers don't colonise the land, like they do in Iraq. They came the land in with the intention to keep peace in the country. The Americanes are wild animals(check there attitude).(Sharon+Bush)
The leaders I mean the imposters are thinking that they are gangsters, the goverment is ruled by maffia organisations like the
'FBI CIA and the IDF'. So you can't compare the two of them.
