| I think it sucks that people are just grouping together and saying he sucks, if it werent for tiesto i WOULDNT EVEN LIKE TRANCE. I heard TE 2000 for the first time blaring loud the first night i rolled and ive loved trance ever since. Can you blame me? Over the last 4 years ive listened to djs of all sorts, and was a dj myself for a while, and i still love him. The only other djs i really like are johan and matt darey. I REALLY like matt darey, not to change subjects or anything but hes really good. ANyway i suppose the reason i like tiesto so damn much is his ability to find great tracks, and mix them smoothly, and just create energy. His sets are for the most part very intelligent IMO, and i respect that. Trainwrecking? Ive heard it a couple times on some mixes ive downloaded, but never live, and you also have to remember hes mixing vinyl, not cds or on a computer. He is still human you know... |

The first point I'm going to make is that the name of the party was Energy, not Trance Energy.
Can I blame you for getting on your hands and knees and bowing to Tiesto as the messiah because you heard one of the legendary sets the first time you were mashed on pills? Probably not.
I can give Tiesto some credit because he does do an alright job of track selection and programming now, but if you had happened to attend a set of his or listen to a recording around the time of Nyana you'd find an absolutely horrid mix of tech-trance, techno, progressive house, and fluff trance in a completely random order.
It's apparent that you obviously haven't been paying attention to our friend Tijs when he's mixing a liveset, because a lot of what he's been playing out now is CDs. The last time he made a trip to Chicago he only mixed with one of the decks and pretended to cue mixes on the other deck, only to be mixing into / out of the pioneer cdjs. Twat! I'm sure 98% of the people didn't know any better though, so he could give a less.
Also, he trainwrecks horribly live if you're at all paying attention. |

I was standing about 15 ft. away from Tijs when he came to Chicago. I was on the right hand side of the balcony next to the DJ booth @ Vision. Tijs was using vinyl about 80% of the time. He was using the colored vinyls off the Just Be album, expect when he played Love Comes Again which was on regular vinyl. His mixing was very good.But the set was ing ty. He picked ty tunes and the set really had no flow or energy. It was a waste of $40 if you ask me.
IMO 2003 Tiesto played good tunes. If you saw him @ House of Blues in 2003 you would agree.He had the crowd by their balls. One of the best nights in my life. One of the main reasons why his return to Chicago this year was a in poor.
Just look at the tracklists from the TIC 2003 and TIC 2004. He without a doubt has lost his taste for dance music.
All I know is that I am never going to spend $40 to see any of the below DJ's again:

Armin Van Buuren
Markus Schulz
Ferry Corsten
Gay Boy Bill

I agree he isn't the best but his mix CD's are always good and he does have a good ear for good tracks. He has definetly gone downhill but he is still a DJ to look up to.
I'll be seeing him again in December and I have no doubt he will perform well. |

You mean B "I'm a producer, but can't spin for " T? He's horrible. Live PA is pretty cool though.
GU013 is a compilation of tracks that he used while playing a live set in Ibiza. If you read your insert a little bit closer, it says that he assembled some of the best tracks from that set. |
