Thanks armin for backing me up. When people whine about a club like the guvernment and i respond with an answer that it is a world class club. Ive seen Many international DJs walk in there and just stare at the place and the crowd. They cant believe the place. ANd these people have been to all the top clubs in the world.

Guv truely is a world class club and the people who whine constantly about it are really spoiled.

Lets not get into another boa vs guv or anywhere else vs guv flame war either because there arent too many places in toronto that are bad (except maybe cozo) LOL

Boa and Guv are 2 completely different types of places. Both of which are really good.

Well put, i agree with your whole point!

so how should we start .. ?

WOHOO :thepirate

That's awesome....we're definitely on the map ;)
And Mark's #240...not bad considering how many DJs are out there, but he should be ranked much higher if looking at his skills - we need to export him a little more ;) Make some more productions Mark!

vote early and often for these popularity contests because sadly they do influence opinion. Support your local talent by making an effort to go see them on their resident nights instead of just going to see the international headliners. Look at talent for the talent and ignore the hype. Some of the best DJs in the world could be in your neighbours basement. Look at James Zabiela 2 years ago!!

Do these things and you will be doing your part to help your favourite local DJ.

What makes dj high on the list is
a) production
+
b) touring
______________
= popularity

If you ask me, it's quite an achievment for Mark to be within top 250. He most surely deserves it, but I am just surprised how he even got there with no productions and world touring.
Mind you, Dumonde and Scumfrog are not even on that list, so good job Mark!

*i might be a bit off topic here, so please excuse me for a sec.*

i heard the same thing from ferry corsten and AVB that the guv is the craziest place ever. how about if ferry and avb were on the dance floor, instead of the dj booth, what do you guys think they would think about the club. suppose its a special event, and ferry and avb are just a part of the crowd, and lets say pvd is spinning.:D

Well I saw Orkidea on the dancefloor on Sat, he thought Guv was very cool. He said he was impressed by it...

from what armin said, it sure shows when he spins at guv. last time, putting his hands on his head, taking them off, and mouthing the word "WOW!" to the club. haha hes awesome

I remember the first time I walked into the Guv... well actually we came in through the drink... so Im chillin in the drink and im like yea this place is cool.. a friend comes up to me like 15 minutes later and hes going nuts "I cant believe this frickin place, its HUGE, unreal!" just going nuts...im like yea its cool.. at that time I didnt even KNOW about the main room.. when I walked through those doors.. looking down on that crowd and those lights, I creamed my pants. That was one of the most exciting moments of my life... I was like a kid in a candy store.. stayed right untill close.. The Guv is an experience. Im surprised the CN tower is still in business. :D

n love Buuren... he just gets so into ...

I remember that too... that was so amazing! ARMIMMMMMMMM

his energy and the way (and how much) he interacts with the crowd just makes him such a treat to see spin....
Playa24_7
haha exactly. for all those reasons and more, hes my favorite dj to see. from an interview i watched, he doesnt even know how much he gets paid for each gig. his manager doesnt tell him. he keeps it that way all the time so he always plays his best. weither he gets paid low or high, it doesnt affect his performance. he loves the club just as much as all of us, knows that we pay money to see him, and he never lets up, always plays a friggin amazing show.
