I'm embarassed for her...she comes off rather unintelligent and "common" (not in a good way) every time I read her statements or hear her speak. How childish and is she that she repeatedly makes ridiculous statements in the media that serve NO purpose whatsoever??? Does she possess any tact at all?
Way to support your party in a minority gov't situation by showing that kind of disrespect, lack of solidarity, and by repeatedly antagonzing the U.S. during strained times...you're serving your constituents and this country sooooo well by being lippy in the media :rolleyes:

Parrish does not speak with class or tact. There are more professional ways to go about criticizing the USA than stomping on a Bush doll. She has no principles to speak out on either - her actions are motivated by good old-fashioned anti-Americanism. Perhaps her actions are easily digested by liberal Canadians, but that's hardly surprising since those same liberal Canadians carry themselves with equally little class. There is a HUGE difference between her actions being good for her candidacy and being good for this country.
It still never ceases to amaze me at how Canadians will look at incidents like this and refer to it as "nonconformity" or "standing up for herself", when it's entirely clear that Bush-bashing and anti-Americanism are actually the social norms in Canada. She's not standing up against anyone - she's just being a lot more tactless in stating what the rest of these politicians already think anyway, the latter part of which is exactly why Martin won't can her ass.
As long as someone bashes America, they'll receive praise from Canadians no matter how idiotic their actions really are. What an utterly ing sad reflection on the state of affairs in this country - a nation of insecurity. Someone give me a ring just before we arrive at the 3rd world, so I can hop across the border and not have to deal with communism. |

I like what Parrish has to say because I agree with her.... at the same time, If I didnt agree with her, I would probably want her outta there... so both sides have point!!
Honestly though... Do you think Bush or his people really care about what she has to say anyway... its the Conservatives, making a big deal out of it...

I'd have to disagree RJ to some extent. I know a few politicians at a personal level including 1 mayor and 1 former minister in Martin's cabinet. Politicians dont run for office because of the money. They do it because of deep burning desire for it. |

I don't know man Paul Martin, Pierre Trudeau, Brian Mulroney, Mike Harris... etc etc etc. They're all loaded. Most MP's are loaded. Im not sure it has anything to do with money. Power is something more attractive than money. Paul Martin is worth millions. You think it would make a difference to him if he made 100g or 500g? Maybe it would.. i dont know. |
