I have always been into chillout/downtempo music. I used to listen to it all the time a while back. After receiving a downtempo set from an artist a few months ago (of his own music) it made me start listening to it more than I already did (at the time). It's funny how you can forget how much you love a genre of music until someone reminds you how great it is.

yeah i was talking about those sets. i liked them too...but he seemed to really focus on chillout versions of known trance tracks...i'd like to do some with more obscure stuff...there is some really great ambient stuff out there...you just have to dig
sndh
i recommend everything by Telefon Tel Aviv, Ulrich Schnauss (cant believe he isnt mentioned yet), Peter Benisch, Dub Tractor and Abfahrt Hinwel

If you guys like chillout, check out the Ambient link in my signature and listen to the stream...best stuff you'll ever hear - anywhere, guarenteed. :) It's obviously way slower then the majority of the stuff you guys have mentioned, but its so good (especially to sleep too). If you enjoy stuff by Biosphere, Vidna Obmana, Gordon Hempton, Pete Namlook and such, you'll enjoy this stream. (EDIT: It appears the server is down, so check the other links below)

You may also be interested in these streams too:

http://bluemars.org/cryosleep.php

Bluemars is more space music/space ambient, where Cyrosleep is drone/classic ambient. Both very enjoyable, but the site in my sig is byfar the best.

Anyway agree with FSOL - Cascade, and Union Jack - There will be no Armageddon.

I also like to play a few others:

Eat Static - Panspermia
Kayashi - Furyo (Louis Cypher's Fading Fury Mix)
Sasha - Baja
Mea Culpa - Tahiti
Immersion - Fat (On 2nd Immersion EP)
Jaya - Excursion (On Subterranean EP. I don't know if this is largely regarded as chill out, but I find this song very relaxing. The version Oakey played to open his 2000 essential mix on Platoon recordings.

And there is also some great stuff by Salt Tank, Chicane and lesser talked about Woob (aka. Paul Frankland).

I'm really getting into to chillout lately, and this started with Corentin's sets in the Amateur section.

Looks like he has had quite an impact here.

It's a drink from South Africa, but not technically a tea since its from a completly different plant, buts sold as rooibos tea anyways.

Ahh some frenchman was cooking for me 2 weeks ago when I was on Holiday and I couldn't remember if Rooibos was the seasoning he used on the Pork or a Tea. Hehe, thanks for explaining.

Listening to Banco De Gaia now, I forgot to include some of their work as classic chillout.

Well you see, it's kind of strange. It's off GU:Electric Calm v2, but exactly what it is is somewhat of a mystery to me.

The melody starts at about 0:30 on Pako & Frederik's "Pintan Alley (Extended Corridor Mix)", but the part I recorded starts at 0:05 on the next track, which is The Forth - Dusk 2 Dawn, and ends at 1:00 in that track.

I guess that means it's really just Pintan Alley, but the original sounds *nothing at all* like that. Nor, for that matter, does the version of Dusk 2 Dawn on GU:Exposures. So, in short, I have no idea :)

I don't know if this is allowed :nervous:, but here's the whole clip.

For some reason, making it a clickable link causes it to fail... try cutting and pasting into a browser.
