It was definately a great nite. Met some great peeps and heard some great tunes.
TOTA's are the best party people ever!
But I gotta give props to Florida TA's, you know who you are...I hope you had an awesome time at the Guv.

i have a problem with procrastination!!!!!!!!!
first of all gotta say thanks to jon and emery for organizing a perfect night. alot of hard work went in to the night and it sure did pay off.
thanks alot everyone for the support, it was what i needed to make it through the the night. i am glad everyone enjoyed the tunes i played and i will be excited to play again on the 17th.

my vary very very late review.
so this party was definitely the biggest thing i looked forward to in a long time. i knew that after so many years of practicing and spending money on records ray would finally get a big chance like this. not that there weren't chances before but always something happened to ruin the experience.
i knew that both ray and kev were nervous since that's all they have talked about for the three weeks prior. even the stress the day of the gig was overwhelming. i mean at one point ray was not even going to play.
so the two guys went to go set up final scratch and i went to go hang out with JZ which was fun but i think i scared him by saying th food was spicy so he didn't eat anything. when i got to the club 10 minutes after 10, it was still empty except the super troopers Callie5 and newr. they were already getting the party going. ray was spinning and he was doing amazing on the decks, it's like someone else had taken over from that nervous wreck from the day. within 15 minutes, i didn't even know how this happened, the front room was half full and another 15 minutes, it was packed. thanks for everyone coming out, that's what made the party great! I was still amazed at how well Ray was spinning, he was definitely on auto-pilot and once he was done everyone's congratulations were non-stop.
Kevin came on the decks and i knew he was nervous because of the software and some problems they had earlier, but everything worked perfectly and the dirty beats were amazing. the only song i was disappointed with by the way it sounded was that "Go Deep" song because you couldn't here the lyrics over the base. so pretty much i only knew it from listening to it at home.
it seemed like the time flew by way too fast during the whole party. Artem ripped it up anthem style after the proggy intro. What a perfect way to keep the energy level high. i never stepped into the main room until well into DJ Aren's set.
JZ was good but the room was missing something, from the great high energy in the front room, the main room seemed dull. the tunes were great but maybe i was just tired. seeing JZ wear that T-Shirt made me laugh really hard. that's awesome.
i think that the post-party reflection at home and then at caroline's really solidified the fact that this was definitely a great night and something that i could talk about for months to come.
but DAMN it lasted a short time!! |
