I'm not the hugest fan of what zabiela plays, but there is absolutely no denying this guy's skill in the DJ booth. And well, some of those basslines he's got on those CDs are just plain nasty. It was great to watch this guy work up there.
To rob, I'm sorry I didn't make it out to boa afterward, but I couldn't in good conscience move my buddy in the state he was in for his first time. And to all the rest of you who met my buddy from hamilton, thx for showing him the friendliness of what the scene's about. Special thuumbs up goes to Littlepoonzgirl, who I met for the first time and went above and beyond the call of duty to make hime feel at home. Good night, and good show mr Zabiela. |

That rubber banded card technique actually worked out nicely. You could say it was, enlightening? :D Good stuff. |

I had to leave a little early 'cause I wasn't feeling well, but great night, it's always tons of fun to have so many people out. A bunch of people suddenly disappeared right before I decided to leave, so I didn't get to say goodbye, sorry.
Ray, you did great out there, all those sketchy Sundays have obviously paid off bigtime. ;) Don't mean to single anyone out though, the front room was kickin' all night.
I think I caught about an hour and a half of James' set - what I heard was a little harder than what I was expecting, which is 100% a good thing for me when it comes to breaks. Seemed like the crowd was definitely diggin' it too! That room was in dire need of air conditioning though, I had to go outside several times to cool off, which is not fun when it's raining and they haven't covered up the whole patio.
Definitely looking forward to the next UNITY event - to the 1P crew, congrats on another great party! |

as for zabiela, everyone KNOWS he has incredible skill....
but, as much as i love this guy, set was really
good but not as i expected.
didnt have the usual dirty feel, few weird tunes imo.
LISTEN, zabiela's one of my faves, just missing sumthing last nite.

What a perfect way to return from our holidays....bathed in great music and surrounded by the best people!!!!
Ray, well done grasshoppah, you belong up there as much as the rest of us....at times I could have sworn you were using my crate....so many familiar toons and great flow. Kev as well, really had some great chugging energy up there twisting things to the more tribal realms at times....even some Peace Division beats......I loved the change of directions :)
To Ortemy and the Sgt. - sadly I got locked into JZ before you guys came on but I know for a fact you kept the front rocking...1999 style :D
Foo, you my brotha need to make a return visit to Casa Mossey soon.
JZ was his normally brilliant and fun-loving self... a bit harder and less vocal sample work but dirty and creative all the same. I really need to get me one of those pioneer samplers.......
A great night back with great friends....thanks again

But the biggest thing is; you enjoy yourself and that's the biggest plus. It rubs off on the crowd when a DJ truly enjoys their job and you do!

I second on that!! I didn't know what to expect of James,,,,BUT WOW was he ever amazing!!! I really liked his style. He is definately keeps his set interesting...you don't really know what is coming. I was dancing up a storm as soon as he came on...till about shortly after 3 AM when I had to leave unfortunatly because my friend had to work in the morning.
It was great meeting some new TA faces....I know there were several more that I still did not have the pleasure. You guys ROCK!!! I really mean it!
I left this party feeling "high" once again the music had done it for me without (u know!)
Thanks Eric for taking me out. It was great meeting a fellow Portuguese TA. You are awesome........(and such a HOTTIE)

What a fun night! So many great people and killer tunes. Ray, unbelievable set my friend. You definitely got that front room energized for the night. So very proud of you and that performance. Kevin, I have always really enjoyed your sets and last night was no exception. Was loving the darker twisted stuff you were dropping. Nice one bruva!! Headed in to the mainroom for some JZ at this point an I have to say I had trouble dancing only because I was so wrapped up in watching his skillz. I stood in awe for a good portion of his set. And I just loved that he was so damn happy up there...HUGE perma grin on his face. Raiban, loved the JZ = hip hoppa shirt...loved that he put it on for you...and loved even more that he opted to change in the booth. Nat says nice back JZ...well the front side ain't too shabby either. ;)
Ventured back into the front room to catch a good portion of Sgt Foo's set. Great tunes being dropped there. Nice work Aren.
Great to be back in the land of good friends and sweet tunes...however if we could bump the temperature up to the 32 degrees I have been accustomed too the last 2 weeks...that would be great..thanks.
enjoy the rest of your weekend friends! |

Had a great time playing lastnight, but more importantly, had an even better time with all the TA's that came out. What a great night in the front room for UNITY. Was great to finally play out in a club, share some tunes. Ray ripped it up though the previous night and that morning, we were both feeling pretty nervous, hahaha. Turned out way better than I had imagined. Ortemy and Aren were laying down the Trance, nice work.
I'm disappointed that I couldn't stick around for all of JZ. I've always wanted to see him, sometimes I can't go when he's here and other times he's been at the Guv and I didn't want to go. I was waiting for JZ @ System, but man, I was just too tired come 3:30 or so. The first little bit I saw, dude, I can't believe how fast your hands move on that EFX unit. hahaha, use it much? :p Great tunes from the small amount that I heard. I was hoping for a little scratching session before I left, but I'll have to wait till next time to get the full deal.
Such a great night, thanks to John and Emery for UNITY, looking forward to more.
EDIT: Ok this is what I played, I think in this order, from 12 - 1AM.
01. Nicky Scanni & Stephan M - Go Deep Feat. Nadia (Saeed Younan Remix) - Younan Musik
02. Riva - Daylight (Deepest Remix) - Beat Freak
03. DJ Wady - Mazka - Younan Musik
04. Peace Division - Take Me I'm Yours (Peace Division Rework) - Low Pressings
05. Piliavin & Zimbardo - The Lick (Minimal Funk Mix) - Distraekt Records
06. D-Formation - The Third Dimension (Simon & Shaker Remix) - Beat Freak
07. Coca & Villa - La Noche (D-Formation Remix) - Beat Freak
08. Rene Amesz - I've Been Away - Lowriders
09. Chus & Ceballos - Low Frequencies (D-Formation Remix) - Stereo Productions
10. D-Formation Pres. Xperimental Shop - Thrill (D-Formation Mix) - TUSOM
11. Music For The Terace - Music For The Terace (7 a.m Mix) - Residenza Records

Thanks a lot to everyone, especially to Emery and John for making it such a great night. All the djs were great, sorry Aren that I could not stay for your set, I am sure you played great. Gamma and Twitch were really good, they got me going : ))) Did not really catch Zabiella and Osborne, I was in Main Room only for 15 min. after my set and witnessed James'es infamous scratch, but I had to leave soon after.
Lot of people were asking me last night which tracks I played and what particular mixes were those, so if anyone's interested here is a tracklist of what i played : )))
