lets put it this way some kids need the beatings some dont. im not gonna beat my kid for every lil thing. i will yell at him for every lil thing. but i will not beat hiom for it. like if i have a really good kid, i wont beat him much. like if/she comes home with a 75% instread of a 90% sure ill act disappointed but its not gonna be like im gonna pull out the belt.
now if my kid comes home with the police for doing something in stupid. im gonna borrow the cops baton and beat him senseless. it ill borrow the cuffs too. |

Children do get away with way too much these days, that's for ing sure. I agree that sometimes discipline might have to be more than just a silly threat like "sending someone to their room." Discipline in my house consisted of a bit more than verbal banter, and I turned out just fine. Obviously there is a difference between beating your children, which some of you are being accusational of, and discipline.
I think those of you complaining are young. |

Either way, parents have to be tougher with their kids. IMO too many are spoiled and disrespectful. You have NO idea how disrespectful the kids are at my school. Its horrible. Kids get written up (sent to an administrator) all the time for saying things like " you! ing bitch!" right to a teacher's face. We have an on-site police officer, there are at least 2-3 fights everyday, and the kids get arrested. If they're lucky, they get 10 days OSS. Its just sad when all the kids rush up to the people fighting, and cheer them on and laugh about it later. That isn't supposed to happen :whip: |

| yep. i agree but i wouldn't go as far as the belt, but they won't be brought up as soft cocks either. Just a mass smack on the arse or hand (if you're a tod) is enough. I got a nephew that's 5 years old in 2 weeks and he a ing little , swearing at his parents " you mum, c**t!" pisses and s his jocks every now and then coz he can't be arsed goin to the toilet. His parents are ing useless, they don't do , the fathers the worst, he's , gets the mum to look after the kid all the ing time, he's a bum!!! (oh he worked at Peter Jackson's house up north, big ing woop!) he deserves to die....sort of, it's mostly his fault for why the kids like that. The kid needs disipline! We were alright, we got ours when we were little s, and we turned out pretty good. |

Be thankful the cops bring them home instead of calling you to pick them up from the morgue. Boy, you're about as stupid as they come. If you grew up with your folks constantly whipping and beating you, it doesn't mean you have to carry on the sick tradition. I was raised that way and swore I wouldn't subject my kids to the same. I don't know if they will turn out any better or worse for it, but by god they can't hold something like that against me. Yeah, I admit I beat them on a few rare occasions, but was drunk when I did it and really felt bad about it. Really f*cking bad. You don't know how easy it is for a grown man to seriously injure a child when you're drunk.

Well lets put it this way my dads a a very resonable person.... until he's pissed (edit: off , not drunk.. hehe) . Now I knew if I pissed him off I was going to have a bad day. Therefore I was good. Also my dads a deputy rector (like princible) and he's like his schools "enforcer" any kid thats comming the c*nt goes to him to get sorted out.
Basicly this means I'm not really scared of other authority figures when it suits me (which is handy), though not in a unmoral or irresponcible way. Just if someone shouts at me I basicly don't care where as other people get all scared and stuff.
But my dad (maybe once or twice when I was really young) didn't hit me really (perhaps threats). And I've been told by his former pupils (I went to a diff school thank ...) that nobody messes about (by the way I'm talking about little druggy s just under the age limit for any form of action police or otherwise, who totally up all their classes). Now obviously he can't hit them but by they don't mess. I was told he had this 19 year old "hard man" (actually probebly don't need the "", apparently he was) in tears just from talking to him.
So I'd agree that you need it at a very early age but not later than 10 or so if you've been brought up correctly. |

| My Mother had teh mighty wooden spoon that me & my bro tried to flush down the dunny on many occasions. My Mothers greatest undoing was she sent us to Karate classes. I learnt how to bloke that wooden spoon crap & crap teh wooden spoon off her. Teh wooden spoon became a bit of a joke after that.
