David this is crap - that riff is totally unique and i think it was originally a brilliant idea. The original 'rougher' version doesnt stand out that much on 45RPM but thats because I like the entire album, and I think it's probably true to say that every track is (almost) as good as each other. Bringing it back to remix was a brilliant idea, and it's done well for him. I think the original, much like most of 45 rpm is one of his best works. It's got a kind of rawness that you dont get with his productions today, and i think it is the simplicity of the track that makes it. |
