thats because we have someone who has a clue running the economy ;)
seriously, gordon brown is ing good at his job, and regardless of whether you love him or hate him he has made this country's economy one of the strongest and THE most stable in the world.
to be honest though, we could have bought all of your houses ages ago :p your houses are so damn cheap! |

put it this way, if i bought one of those 4 bedroom houses with a swimming pool in florida, but it was here, it would probably be in excess of £300,000 |

My parents house is a five bedroom barn conversion with 2.5acres in central Southern England....£1.2m
A 10 bedroom mansion with 200 acres in Scotland...£300,000
A 6 bedroom house in prime location in London....£4.4m
It varies so much depending on where you are in the country. As for tu_face's example a 4 bedroom house with pool in his part of the country may be £300,000 but in my part of the world that would be closer to £700,000 (people don't want to live up north ;))
