i was in amnesia and in pacha both times when p diddy visited these clubs, in pacha everybody like stopped dancing and his performance only consisted of some stupid moves and saying "lets go" once in a while:rolleyes:
in amnesia he like just went to the vip and had this noise making thing with him and wanted people to cheer for him and but they stopped after 5 mins or something was funny :P |

exactly. |

nik, like p diddy and the all the others are the only one to do that, in fact, hip hop was based on sampling, altho i think you might know that. but the thing is that, it's not like just the rappers do it really, look in the edm world and tell me that there is no excessive sampling going on. tbh, i feel that p diddy's sampling of kashmir was rather good. |

People believe the rumours they want to believe, and mod them according to their own personal taste... I hope u all feel better now for listening to EDM, and feeling that people out there treated Hip-Hop artists like .
I'm not a fan of P.Diddy, I hope u guys feel satisfied with ur girlish bitching...
BTW...
wat's an elitist? |

| If P. Diddy wants to jam out to some trance at Ibiza then let him the music is for everyone. |

I do not recall saying otherwise. |

I don't really like rap or hip hop but I'd have to agree, I see no problem with a rap or hip-hop artist enjoying trance and other EDM. And if he did start rapping to trance, I'd still listen to trance and maybe even his stuff if it was good, regardless of whether or not I think P. Diddy is a douchebag.
And wtf is this about Kashmir though? P. Diddy did a remake of it? I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, but I haven't heard this ... ? |

You obviously have never heard of Lil' John. (To be fair, he uses an 808.) |

| Love P Diddy or hate him, we can all agree on one thing. There is a veritable stigma that seems to follow P Diddy wherever he goes and all of us EDM lovers would appreciate he stay as far away from our music as possible. |

Like I said I would probably listen to it if his trance/rap combination was actually good (assuming he does something like this in the future), but I'm thinking it would probably be total , so that's a moot point.
I was just saying I don't think he should be totally discredited in his pursuit of EDM.
Though I agree with most of the people here, that the type of atmosphere he'd bring would suck. Imagine the way P. Diddy would change trance if he gained popularity. Could you picture Tiesto or AvB walking to their turntables wearing $5000 suits, golden necklaces and jewelry, etc. like some hip-hop rapper ? --I definitely don't want to :eyes: but nonetheless, that was just my basic point. |

its true, i hate how he took Led Zeppelin - Kashmir and turned it into some rap song for the Godzilla soundtrack. Sif rap over a masterpiece. |
point made and i totally agree BUT... many of the songs from the first two led zeppelin albums were cover songs. so in a way theyre a ripoff too.
i really don't think that p diddy's motives are in the right place. he just doesn't have a passion of a real artist. always ripping beats and riffs and melodies from someone else rarely creating something entirely new. i think its just about sales. if he crosses over into edm he has a bigger fan base. more people that will buy his albums. thats what limp bizkit, pappa roach and hiphop guys like redman and methodman were trying to do. i don't HATE hip hop and i'm not against the crossover idea. N.E.R.D. aka the neptunes collaborated with sander kleinenberg to make a brilliant track. but that said, p diddy isn't the neptunes and if he did get booed off stage i wouldn't feel the slightest bit sorry for him. |

Whoa Whoa Whoa....
HOld on there...
let's slow down a little guys, and be a little more realist...
seriosuly, I think we're taking this far beyond what needs to be...
let's keep our feet on the ground....
WE seeem to be developing conspiracy theories on how PDD will get into EDM, and then all the current DJs will want to be like him....
I mean... seriously... let's keep down to earth... |
