well firstly...the VODKAS -- I think Aquavit is "vodka" in Russian or some East European language (?) omg i am gonna TOTALLY embarrass myself here...i dun even know for sure...its been a few years since i went there
welps i LOVE the chef, he is really innovative with his dishes -- and there is a great $65 prix fixe which includes dessert
but if you dont get the prixfixe i remember always getting a free appetizer for tasting as well as a free dessert. all his dishes have a japanese twist to it...like u will find sashimi and other azn-inspired dishes also. and the desserts are to die for. but its pricey/upscale. |

wait u get dessert and appetizer w/o getting the prix fixe? so why bother with the prix fixe? how much is a regular three course meal then? this intrigues me much. |

nahh man
this was with my EXbf of 9 yrs. He was same age as myself...so it figures that we would go to these places. i admit got spoiled SILLY. lols. i never paid for shiet when i was wid him...but no need for that, i aint no gold digger -- def a low-maintenance type. although free and expensive dinners are definitely NICEEEEE and much appreciated!!! ahhaha :crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy:
I dun eat at places like dis nemore...mebbe someday again. ill probably intro Drew to these types of restaurants sometime. slooooooooowly. :D :D :D :D :D |

lols i should read what i write before submitting ahha.
neways iono if it happens ALL The time...its just lil extras if the chef feels like it. but usually they are pretty generous wid it (yeah well they BETTA be generous if ur gonna be paying like $25-$30 an entree wtf :whip:). like sometimes gourmet chefs will do this cuz they are testing out a new appetizer or dessert. the service there is exquisite btw. well wid the prix fixe a three course meal is cheaper but you cant choose what to have, its just FIXED...it would be more expensive if you ate a reg three course meal but then you can have whatever you want...what i like about their menu is that you will always see very interesting things on there. one time i chose a rhubarb sampling dessert place and that was so amazing...and then there was this cloudberry souffle dessert (its like..umm cloudberry, wat that?)
u MAY get extras with the prix fixe too, not sure.
hoepfully the head chef didnt leave, hes what MADE the restaurant really.
either way i have NEVER been disappointed by this restaurant.
oh btw i think one of their most popular things there is the four aquavit (vodka) sampler. each a different color...its interesting!
oh yeah i forgot a few more restaurants:
Cafe des Artistes tres bien but pricey...:D
Cafe Loup (midpriced)
Spice Restaurant (inexpensive)
YAMA (love it!!!!)
The worst of the gourmet restaurants: Le Cirque (at least from waht i remember, decor sucks and food not my thing really) and VONG (glorified Vietnamese cuisine for over $50)
