Ok then, who else gets music more up front than Oakie, you name 1.

All that means is that he's signed to more mailing lists than any other DJ... and even that I doubt.

Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that everyone wants a piece of Blackwatch & Quivver -- Loveless for instance.

I like Oakie. He may not be technically the best (or close hehe)... but he's one of the better track selectors imo.

It is obvious that a good number of you guys dislike Oakenfold, but he is respected in the fact that like Pete Tong, Tiesto, Armin, PvD, and Markus, people see Oakenfold as one of the best DJs to send tracks to in order to get them out there to the masses.

EXACTLY, i was just making the point to all those Oakenfold haters and all those Tiesto, AVB , PVD so on and so on lovers, that as much as his recent gigs might not av been that good or how so called he is, producers around the world want Oakie playing their music before anyone else, and that includes pete tong AND THATS FACT.

look i don't know what you're arguing about, Oakie is definitely past his prime, and Tiesto should be, but they're both great DJs and probably get a fair amount of songs sent to them. How the can you focus on just one track??? I'm sure there's amateur DJs who have awesome in their crates, that no one's heard of. I hate how prog trance has become "the new wave" of this genre but what the am I gonna do, it sounds good just not to dance to. The up and coming stars are bitches like Schulz, Holden, and Lemon... who are good for when I'm twacked out and need to relax, but in a club situation just don't do it for me. I'd like to see Misja Helsloot get bigger recognition. Anyway, if things don't change I'm switching over to hardstyle and hardhouse, I like what Yoji Biomehanika has to bring to the table. For example have you heard his latest remix of Ligaya, way better then the original which was only good the first time I heard it.

but that's just my opinion, k bye.

The two have no connection with each other. You're spouting a logically fallacious non-sequitur.

Simply the fact that they send him promos doesn't mean they respect him. At most you can assume safely that they wish to use him to get their tracks out to the masses. Which does not equal respect.

ing hardhouse, ok mate go for it.
I'm not focusing on 1 track, I'm mearly talking about 1 tune, this has been happening with Oakie for years and years not just this year, thats what makes him "oh sorry, made him" so good.

I personally dont see how getting a person to send you a promo before anyone else makes you a better dj AT ALL
Being a great dj has many aspects, being master of one does not make you master of all.

IF that was the case, you could say zabiela is the best dj casue no one else can use the efx 500 like him.

tis a pointless claim and argument, as would be having a ferrari engine in a tanker truck and claiming it as the dopest race car.
