he doesnt get hard dance tunes b4 yoji and all the others! he doesnt get nu nrg stuff b4 pvd. he doesnt get trance in general b4 ferry/armin/pvd/tij, and more. he doesnt even get prog trance b4 schulz or armin. he doesnt get prog b4 sasha id like to bet too. at best he would get the proggy/trance stuff same time as these others (and many more). and even then.. does that make any of those better than another? no

You're kicking yourself in the ass here. You're basically saying that producers send their tracks to big names in order to get their own name out there. That has nothing at all to do with the amount of "respect" a DJ has. The producers simply know how to get their tracks out there, and I'm willing to bet that they don't enjoy a lot of the sets from the DJs that spin their tracks. Both Pete Tong, Armin van Buuren, and Oakie disinterest me, but I'd send a track their way.
Just because a DJ has a track first does not mean that he is God. Saying that he's "head an shoulders above all" simply because he gets music first doesn't prove anything. How do you know that the other popular DJs didn't receive the tune as well, and had not found the time to listen to it? |

Oakey is the most respected dj from the point of view of mainstream. some people who have no idea what electronic music is about, know who oakenfold is. past his prime, but still churning out great albums, mixes etc.
also notice how all the "sucky" djs in some of your guys opinions gets talked about alot :rolleyes: |
