oakie first played "Interstate - I found you" in MARCH 2004 yes thats right MARCH 2004 at Miami winter music conference but the radio 1 tracklist stated it was called "orion - i found you". This proves that Paul Oakenfold is still head an shoulders above all these so called super djs, and to add insult to this he's currently sat on number 6(i think)in the worlds top 100 djs.
That's just something I wanted to share with you all.

ROFL.....yeh that must mean hes the best darn dj in the world!! So theres me thinking mixing, set structure and actually giving a damn about the music and crowd was wot was needed, but if all i have to do is find a track noone else has played then look out tiesto!! anyone who can find a good unplayed track cud nick your no.1 spot....

Plus the fact james zabiela is behind judge jules shows how much that list counts....yeh i think that fact really sums up the djmag top 100
generic
listening to some EMs of his from 99, he had tunes long before i heard my usual djs playing them
i mean tunes like mogwai - viola, ubik - the dance, jan johnston - flesh. all tunes that i associate with 2000

this doesn't seem to happen as much any more, one guy having it so far ahead of everyone else
i might be wrong though, im not into it as much as i was then

Oakenfold's got a bitchin' hairdo. That's why he's #6. The guys above him just have slightly better stylists.

Get off your ing high horse, i agree with you about how crap the mag is, my point is Oakie is more respected then any dj out there, the fact that he gets demos sent to him before anyone else. That just says it all to me, and i never even mentioned his great ability of track building and mixing.
P.S - it wasn't just aimed at any particular dj, it is aimed at all djs. It's not just this tune though, since 94 ish onwards he has always had tunes well before anyone else, that is what makes him so good to me, nowadays every dj is playing the same music as every other dj out there, go see Oakie play and half his set will be new stuff that nobodys heard or probably won't hear for another year, thats what makes him stand out cos you know it'll be a good night of new, brilliant music. (didn't mean to be rude to you at the begining of this thread, sorry.)

imo, that list was the top 100 most popular Dj.

How early someone gets music is not an indicator of the respect they receive.
