Teachers only go on strike when school is in and Canada Post only goes on strike at Christmas?
And they say the students/customers arent the targets.
Hope your packaged has arrived because Canada Post probably wont be delivering it otherwise. |

obviously
why wouldnt you strike when you have an unfair advantage at the table? |

| Canada Post employees are walking a fine line here. Between FedEx and email they are already almost irrelevant. A strike may just show the public how irrelevant they really are after they see how efficient the alternatives are. |

| we still need the mail as of today, so they gotta strike while they still can. I think we will be using mail for at least the next 10 years thou |

CANADA POST DISAPPOINTED BY UNION STRIKE ACTION - MAIL WILL CONTINUE TO BE DELIVERED
Ottawa - Canada Post expressed extreme disappointment today that the Union of Postal Communications Employees (UPCE) would reject its contract offer and walk off the job.
“We made a comprehensive offer to the Union that fairly reflects the interests of the employees while preserving the corporation's requirement to continue operating in a highly competitive business environment”, said Mark MacDonell, general manager, Labour Relations at Canada Post.
The Corporation’s offer of a forty-two month contract included wage increases that are in line with recent negotiated settlements throughout Canada (2.25%, 2.25%, 2.4% and 2.4%) as well as job security for all regular employees of the bargaining unit. As well as an improved compensation package, the Corporation has accepted the Union's proposal to allow part-time employees to accrue pension benefits based on actual hours worked.
“It will be business as usual at Canada Post and mail delivery will not be interrupted due to this strike action,” said MacDonell. “The members of the UPCE bargaining unit provide clerical, administration and technical support, they do not collect, process or deliver the mail. We fully intend to meet the needs of our customers and deliver the mail on time.”
The corporation is prepared to continue talks with the Union’s bargaining team at any time in an effort to reach a negotiated settlement.

Lets see, if the teachers were to strike while school was out, and mail was to strike in low season. That's semi-equivalent to you threatening to never post here again. |

| seems to have become a trend on TA ... wenever someone starts a useless post they disguise it so that people will check it out with titles such as ... isnt it funny or what the ?? |
|

| Its also a trend around here that people bitch about every post they dont like. You can always put the cursor over the title to see the first few lines of a thread if opening it and losing 5 seconds of your life is really that valuable. |
|
|
| raveed |
| fair enough but all the 5 seconds do add up ... you could have just made the title canada post goes on strike or something ... just my $.02 |
